I have a day/night blind on the big window in the back. Recently the spring on the night blind I think broke as it no longer will roll up. It doesn't appear to be a regular window shade.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix shy replacing both the day and night rolls and frame?

Ken, Contacting the manufacturer could be a start. Parts could be available from MCD INNOVATIONS. Site: www.mcdinnovations.com or www.mcdshades.com. Email: info@mcdinnovations.com. One of the members provided this info some time ago. Tierra RV could also be a good source.
Thanks Rob this is exactly what I need.
I contacted MCD and we've determined the spring will need to be replaced not the entire assembly.

I think not all RW shades are MCD, ours are from Irving Shade and Door in Elkhart. They appear identical to MCD and operate in the same way.
I need to remove the blind, remove the shades and access the internals to get the part # needed to order the new spring. If it's not MCD I'll find out when I do that.
Fingers crossed....

MCD is pretty proud of their brand, as it shows on the bottom of the shades and the roller knobs. Our Redwood had the "other" brand and I never found the manufacturer name.
Here is the MCD manual if it helps
Ours are Irvine Shades in Indiana. They did have a little label on one of the corners, but the heat loosened them & we cleaned them off.

Irvine shades has been great to deal with the couple of times I've called them.
I would have to agree with others, my Redwood shades look like MCD Shades but are not, they are "Slow-Rise Roller Shades" from Irving Shade and Door Inc.
Yes, I have one over recliners and one over bed , mine are called slow rise shades first time out
Yup, upon closer inspection mine also are Irvine Slow-Rise. I just got off the phone with them and they are sending me 2 replacement springs plus a half dozen clips to replace the ones that keep failing. All for free. We'll see when they show up.
Thanks again all!

Ken
Is there a way to tell, as our have no markings that I can see? Maybe if I had the patience to remove one of the valences, but what a PITA that is!
On mine the pull bar at the bottom of the night shade has a sticker on the right side saying Irvine Door Inc, Made in America.

The clips for hanging the shades on the wll have been slightly re-designed and have a bigger lip to hold the blind. However, they have a different hole pattern, so keep you drill handy.
That's a great reminder Elliott.. I also used the black zip ties in an X pattern after I installed all the new brackets..
Last year I purchased all new brackets and re did all mine.. It was done when I had time, not when I was trying to relax with no shade in the window ! 🙂
