Simple question. Does the Max fan go into sleep mode and the vent close when it rains?

We had a small shower and when I tried to open the fan I heard a small beep and nothing. Any suggestions?

We have a Maxx Fan in our kitchen ceiling. It does have a rain sensor. If running and it gets wet across some electrical sensor up there it will close. Nice protection. Not sure how long it takes to dry out so it will run again. We put a fantastic fan in our bathroom instead of the noisy little fan that makes more noise than air movement. This one doesn't have a rain sensor on it. You can buy it with one. They make various options at various price points.

It takes a while for them dry out & until they do (or you wipe them it off) it won't open. We have Maxx Air II covers over all of ours so we don't have that problem.

We also have the MaxxAir Vent covers, but if the wind is in the right direction it can still get enough moisture on the sensor to turn the fan off and close the cover. Just takes time for it to dry off, then you can open it again.

Thanks, mine is working now. I will need a new cover soon. I had to use some silicone seal to fix a crack on top.
