"Lifes like a box of chocolates" says Forest.
You never know for sure what you gonna get when ordering a rv as they change things right in the middle of things.
There are a few of us that have '13 models that have quartz countertops in the kitchen & bath, they did that for a very short run & not even an option afterwards, we really like ours, but yes it is heavy.
Fortunately the Texas RW (Doug Richards) rep at the time knew what was going on cause our dealer didn't have a clue on the RW standards or options.

We have the quartz countertops as well. When we bought ours we only had a F350 SRW so I was paranoid about the weight. Well I towed it 8K miles, including halfway to the rally (we traded trucks to a dually in Nebraska) without a problem. Now with the dually we don't have the scary weight worries. I'm so glad we have them, the clean up is just great.

Our coach is the same era to Danny & Jim, and we also have the quartz. In our opinion the quartz, while heavy, is vastly superior to the counters with lights they introduced at the 2014 Rally factory visit.

I recall a couple of them cracking, but in almost 4 years and 30K miles never a problem.

Danny, Jim and any others with quartz, do you travel with the quartz sink and cooker covers. After the first trip we removed them from the coach, but still have them in the garage at home. Saves about 100 lbs in weight.

We only travel with the back half of the stove top cover. That way we have extra counter space behind and can still use the front burner without taking it off. The other 3 are in storage. I use the plastic cutting board sink covers all the time.
Like Jim, I was concerned with weight at first but the Dually solved that problem !

I leave the stove quartz covers on when we travel. We don't use the gas burners much, I bought an induction cooktop that Lady E showed us at the 2014 Rally, and use that and our Traeger and the convection microwave for most of our cooking.

I remove the stove and sink quartz covers when traveling with our 2013 RL as they could take a bounce and break or damage something else. We do like the quartz counter tops as they look great.

The sink covers were removed & stored immediately after we took delivery & the cooktop ones haven't been off, except to clean under them, for almost 2 years as we also have induction cookers. And Robert, if those cooktop slabs of quartz bounce off then that was one helluva bump & you'd best stop & gather up all the other parts that bounced off, tires, springs, hitch, your teeth, DW can't hardly lift them.

The sink attachment to the counter already has issues, as many including mine would start to separate there. I would think the quartz sink covers would only aggravate that in travel.

Yep Brad, my covers were only on during the delivery from the factory & 6 months after had to re-glue the sink back up, it's one el cheapo stainless sink to begin with, but the DW likes it much better than the single Corian they have now.

We have the Corian and no problems so far. Would have preferred a stainless one

Agree that it would take a whale of a bounce however I am one that does not take a chance especially after experiencing a blowout at 65 MPH and the resulting rough ride and approximately $10 K damage to our RW while I coasted down to a safe landing spot. The sink quartz covers are a no brainer - they should not be in place during travel unless the under-the-counter mounted sink is braced. Ours are not. When we remodeled our home's kitchen with granite including an under-the-counter mounted sink, the installers placed a steel cable under the sink assembly which was then anchored to the cabinet walls and drawn tight under high tension forcing the sink assembly upwards. Sealant adhesive and retainer clips were also used during the installation. That could be a solution for our RW however removing the covers during travel works for us. I wrap each of the range quartz covers in blankets and place along the rear wall on edge where the two swivel reliner chairs hold them in place. The two kitchen sink quartz covers are stored in the slot adjacent to the range.
