I am getting a rust trail under the shower bar attachment cover that holds the shower head.
I assume it is some hardware under the cover where it attaches to the wall that is rusting.
How do I remove the cover on the end of the shower bar to access the hardware?

Atom may be able to help as he has replaced his fixtures in the shower
Rob, as long as the bar is still secure, I'd just run a bead of clear silicone around the mounting base to keep water from getting to the mounting hardware and from getting into the wall. As Shane suggested, you might also want to ask Atom Ant...he has removed and replaced several of his fixtures.

I found that RW did not seal any of the fixtures in the shower. I sealed all fixtures with the same sealer they use on the out side of the rig, I like it because you can't see it after it cures. I had water dripping down between the faucets and the shower wall where the washer and dryers go. found it in time no water damage to wall or floor.
The bottom of that cap just slides off to reveal the screws. I've replaced mine a couple of times for peeling finish.
they are designed to seal up against the shower wall without a gasket or sealant, if installed properly, but the rust could be coming from the strap that holds the metal rod in there.
Finally got around to fixing the shower rust, thanks AA for telling me how to get it apart.

Rusted Screws were the bottom two on the Shower Fixture, thought they were going to break off before I got them out
