what does everyone use to lube the gasket in the toilet ? My toilet is only a few months old and is losing the water now. So i'm guessing the gasket / ring is dried up . I looked and don't see anything that would be obstructing it and keeping from leaking
Go to any hardware store and buy plumbers grease it comes in a small squirt tube
Do your rubber glove and I usually use a toothbrush to clean both sides of the seal
Then put a dab of grease on your finger and coat both sides of it
I then also spray the foot pedal with CRC lube.
I have the dreaded thetford toilet and in 4 years fulltiming has worked for me
I totally agree with Shane on the plumbers grease!
But the 1st time you need to spend more $$ than that tube of grease yank that Thetford toilet out & replace it with a Dometic 310 or 320. Once the valve leaks or the foot pedal falls off, which it will, for the price of Thetford parts & the effort to put them on you could almost pay for the Dometic & have a 110% better toilet.
Shane, you've been VERY lucky with the Thetford, they must've screwed up & built 1 good one.

Yes I already replaced with a Dometic 320 about a month or two ago. That was the best upgrade we did so far.
I did the same , the 320 elongated bowl is nice …
Thinking about it this winter.................How much of a job, procedure, etc?
easy job , first check from the center of the discharge pipe to the wall, you need 10 1/2" + clearance. there is about 1 1/2" difference in the overall size of the 320 compared to the theford. In my install the theford was off the wall by about 1" and the 320 is pushing the wall in about 1/4". you will need about 2"longer on the fresh water feed , in my case I was able to pull it out of the basement. on a scale of 1-5 for difficulty this was a 2.5 . fairly easy and quick.
Love our 320, like others great upgrade.
Clean the and lube the seal from time to time, no issues

We also have a 2013 36RL and we put in a 320, there was enough clearance at the back to put it in, it isn't touching the back wall, but I would check (measure from the center of the discharge to the wall) just in case Redwood put the discharge closer to the wall on your unit.
The water connection was "plug and play", enough slack in the tubing and the same thread on the connector, no parts required. If i would have been fancy, I would have changed out the 90 degree connector for a straight one, but the 90 degree one did fine.
I am considering this upgrade to the Dometic 320 but have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've verified that I have the necessary flange dimension of 11 inches from the rear wall to the center of the drain so this toilet should fit. My concern is the overall length of the toilet. In my GK I have a separate water closet from the shower. The water closet has a vanity in front of the toilet and with the existing Thetford toilet I've only got 15 1/4 inches from the front of the bowl to the cabinet. The Thetford is 19" deep and the Dometic 320 appears to be 22" deep. I do have about 3" of clearance behind the Thetford. I'm concerned that the Dometic 320 might extend to far forward and limit movement when using the vanity. It may not be an issue though if the Dometic sits closer to the rear wall.
If you have installed the Dometic 320 could you please provide me with a few measurements? I need the dimension from the back wall to the flange bolt, the dimension from the back of the toilet to the wall and the overall length of the 320 toilet. If I can get these from someone who's installed this toilet I should be able to calculate my clearances. I'd sure appreciate it!
If you can make it work, I think you'll like that 320! I couldn't get the 11" so I had to go to the 310 and not real thrilled with it. I almost wish sometimes that I stayed with the Thetford.
