Has any one made the trip from Northern Michigan through Ontario to Niagara Falls?
We are thinking of making the trip after the rally.
Are there any issues traveling in Canada with a 5th wheele?
Would it be better to come back to Detroit and cross there?
Any recommendations on RV sites?
We currently plan on going up the west side of Mich.

Would appreciate any recommendations you may have

Thanks
Gary

Stayed in a beautiful KOA in Sault St Marie, pricey but so is everything there. Also stayed in a park about 40 miles east & their idea of a big rig & mine weren't even close, no sewer, 20 amp electric (when the breaker wasn't tripped) & added my Y to the 6-7 others already on the faucet, nice park but for $65 it was a bit primitive. Did not have any problems crossing over or coming back. I think of I were to make that trip I'd come back & go through the US, fuel, groceries, everything is a LOT cheaper.

If you are going to Niagara Falls your best border crossing is Port Huron/Sarnia. We did this last year and I recommend staying off I-69, as it is dreadful in many places.

We go to Port Huron and stay at the KOA, which is about a mile from the motorway, and about 5 miles from the border. From Sarnia you can use the motorway all the way to Niagara, or take some of the back roads. Last year we used the back roads and only issue was a 13' 6" bridge close to Niagara.

Being Canadian, we have taken our Redwood coast to coast, so issues are no different than the U.S.

In Niagara avoid Campark Resort, it is poorly maintained and the interior roads are continuous deep pothole. Wifi non-existant.

Enroute to the Rally we are staying at Sault Ste Marie KOA and the owners are exceptional.

If you are thinking about crossing at the Soo and taking the Trans Canada to Sudbury and then down the 400 highway to Toronto then over to Niagara Falls there isn't a great choice of RV parks in the north for larger RV's.

We make that trek in reverse when going to north west Ontario each summer, we've given up on provincial parks as the sites are too small for our RW (and only 30 amp electric, no water or sewer other than at the dump site). There is an RV park (serpent River RV park, a former KOA) that we stop at just west of Espanola, 30 amp and water with a dump site), there is also a KOA south of Barrie. We haven't checked out other parks as we live south of Barrie and don't need to.

Crossing at Sarnia/Port Huron may be a better bet for you, if you go the 400/401 route it will take you into the Toronto traffic (no fun!)
