I see Andy uploaded the document to the library about the Kinvaro T-105 to keep the upper kitchen cabinets open when retrieving items inside. I found a shock/strut at Home Depot last winter for the cabinet above the microwave, but it would not work on the cabinet above the fridge. Has anyone tried this on the small door above the fridge and if so could you share the details about ease of installation and where you obtained one?

Thanks,

Jim

Here's my solution for over the frig & mmicrowave. Had to glue a piece of 1x2" to the side to mount flush, works great & was inexpensive.

Jim,

Haven't completed the RW yet, but when designing our new kitchen at home I specified the door above the fridge must stay open. The ones I included in the technical library are what they supplied. It took the installers only a few minutes to install.

I am planning to pick up another couple from our kitchen supplier and install before our next trip. Don't see why they shouldn't work. What issues did you experience.

Andy

The strut we bought at Home Depot worked well for the cabinet over the microwave, as it is a 9" tall door. The door over the fridge is only 6" and didn't have enough height to use the smallest strut we could find.

Thanks Jim,

The door above the fridge at home is also about 9", so will check with our supplier next time we are in their area if they have ones for 6" doors.
