I have had what I consider to be good mobile service lately and, knowing how rare this is, I thought I should post about it.

The service is called RV Mobile Service, operated by Tim Jones who is an RVIA certified technician with 24 years experience.  He has a mobile service in Michigan but spends winters in Florida where he also does some work.  He can be reached by phone or text at 302-864-4277.

We are parked about 100 miles round trip from Jones’ base in Ruskin FL.  He charged $105 for the trip and his hourly rate is $60. Payment is direct to him, by cash or cheque.

Tim has come to us twice.  We found him through a large dealer (General RV I think) when they couldn’t help us.  On both occasions, he has come to us on the day after I called, which is pretty unusual I think!  The first time was a stupid user call involving our gas oven. Enough said about that! The second time was an electrical issue (we lost half of our 12V lights) which he attempted to troubleshoot over the phone in order to avoid the cost of a call for us.

We found Tim to be a very straightforward, practical technician.  During his first visit, I showed him a damaged awning. He checked it out and we decided no repair was required.  (The estimate we had from another mobile service was about $900 but they couldn’t do the work for at least 3 weeks.)

He will be my go-to mobile service for as long as I am here.
