Just some info. Yesterday I last all ac power. My surge protector shows both legs had 120 volts with a green light. Thought I had a bad transfer switch. After calling a rv repair person they told me to try to remove the surge protector and give it a try, I did not think any thing was wrong with it but I gave it a try and sure enough I got the power back.
We had a similar issue a few weeks ago the water hook up was right next to the shore power post. When water was used in the camper, it spritzed water on my surge protector. My cousin a electrician has always recommended putting electrical tape around each connection so NO water can get to contacts. Moisture got into protector and ruined it.
IMPORTANT: since I didn’t listen to my cuz I also got HOT SKIN on the camper due to the water inside contacts. Guys please put electrical tape over your connections. Lesson learned. 😉
Believe it or not, a surge protector is a one time only use ... meaning, if you get a blast that activates the protector, it is then most like fried and will need to be replaced. This is how they work vice being a huge circuit breaker they are actually a sacrificial device vs your appliances. You may need to replace it now ...
Don't know about the Surge Guard brand, but the Progressive Hardwired units have a replaceable surge section.

I lost a SurgeGuard unit a few weeks after this years rally, we had a Lighting strike up the street and were without power for a number of hours, didn't think of the RW until 2 days when I went out to get some Items and had no 120. Work with SurgeGuard on their test request and was told with CC they could ship me a replacement as mine was gone, so I must believe it is once and gone. Ended up replacing the Pregressive Ind hardwired unit from Amazon was delivered the same day (was shocked).
