Wanted to get your thoughts on the size of RV. We will be going full time with no stick or brick in the picture. It is just the two of us and a guess with us a few times a year. After looking at campgrounds, national parks etc, we are asking ourselves do we want a large rig. It is not about pulling or our finances. Its about the availability to get in places. Has any of you down sized or up sized and what is your experience? Should I be concerned about the availability of place to park the rig.
If you're looking to get into Federal and State Parks size can sometimes be an issue, but if most of the time will be in Private or Public Campgrounds not much of an issue. Our RW is 43 ' tip to tail and have always been able to find a spot.

agreed... We have been pulling Fifth Wheels since our 2008 39' Montego Bay... our 2016 41' Redwood... and now our 2020 42' Redwood and have NOT had any issues getting a spot where I wanted to be...
BUT We mostly camp in public/private campgrounds/resorts and some limited state parks.... IF I am going somewhere NEW, I google maps the destination and make a call or 2...BEFORE hitting the road...
I will add something, our favorite State Park on Lake Ontario has a row of sites facing the lake, but when making reservations it says "40' Max", but because we know the sites could hold 100' we have to fib and say we're only 40'. Then again there is a State Park in Michigan on the St. Clair River that says 40' and are very strick that you don't park past the power pole, so we book one of their sites that list a longer length. I would be careful if you've never been to a place.

I encourage you to consider comfort above size restrictions. If you're comfortable in a shorter rig, then great! But if you're living in it full time, your comfort needs to come first. You don't want to continually regret not having "..." whatever "..." is. You can find places to stay with a long rig. It may not be in a CCC or WPA campground that was built for 20 ft. trailers. But you won't have any problem finding places that will accommodate a Redwood. And no matter what length of rig, you'll always have to make sure that a site or campground will accommodate your length.

If you are going to live in it get the biggest you can
If just for weekends get the smallest that fits you comfortably
