Dave and I bought our Redwood rv in MT a month ago and just got back from our maiden trip. Suggestion: stay closer to home the first time! We had numerous issues to deal with and were just blessed to meet KenA and his wife on our arrival in Banff Alberta. We had no electrical so couldn't disconnect or put the slides out. Our hardwired Surge Guard was too picky about the power and wouldn't connect. Batteries were dead (factory one was toast). Ken had a charger and a tester as well as a spare battery to get us going. Dave bypassed the surgeguard and went to our 30 amp adapter with a portable surge protector and we were good! Next problem was the door latch. Dave was locked out and I was locked in!! we dismantled from both sides the entire latch. Turned out to be a stripped screw at the plate. Roof leak at the island light and misc other issues. Ugh! We love our unit and it is a good thing with all these hassles!
Congratulations on your new RW.
Congrats on your RW and welcome to the ROG!
Congrats on the new trailer and welcome to the group. There is a good group here and will try to help with any issues you have
Dave & Cary,
Congratulations on purchasing a Redwood and welcome to the Redwood Owners Group. Not sure on your schedule, but the 2016 National Rally is in August and is being held at a campground close to the factory. We have lots of seminars scheduled and also an opportunity for a meeting with a technician to discuss your coach. RW will also complete a couple of minor repairs. Lippert also have special pricing on various upgrades.
As Shane mentioned you'll get lots of assistance here from other owners and we also have an ever expanding Technical Library.
Welcome to the ROG, great bunch of people here.
Hope things get better and you get to enjoy you Redwood more !!
Welcome and congratulations on the new RW. We all have our list of problems in the beginning months or years so post any problems or questions and there is always someone here with the knowledge to help you through them. The ROG has got us through many issues in the beginning and also putting us in touch with the correct contacts at RW when needed.
Let the new adventures begin!
Steve
Thanks so much! Indiana is a 4 day drive each way for us and we rarely leave NW Montana in the summer 🙂 So don't see that happening for us, it would be fun to meet owners and talk to Redwood in person though.
Returning from the 2014 Rally we completed long days and made it from the Iowa/Indiana border to Montana in 3 days, but yes 4 days is way more comfortable.
We have at least 3 of us coming from the West Coast - CA, WA & BC.
We are in NW MT so it is another full day from the eastern border to our home. Would love to go but super hard to pull away from this beautiful place we live in the summer. Summer is just too short and so much to squeeze in.
It was a pleasure meeting you both. Was very happy to be able to help out. It's what we do a round here after all. Also appreciated sharing the bottle of wine with you after your door latch issue.
Look forward to staying in touch here on the ROG and perhaps in person at a Rally or Meet up.
Safe travels, congrats on your new RW and welcome.

Welcome to the ROG ! !
When I purchased my first big fiver , I only wish there was a site like this to help with the many normal small issues I had... The folks on this site are willing to help in anyway possible... That's a great feeling when you are dealing with something that you cannot figure out...
Between all of the members , been there - done that ! !
Good Luck , and Happy Camping !
