My 39MB should be here by the end of the month. One of the things I wanted to do was look at putting sliding trays in the basement. I was surprised how expensive they were relatively speaking. I have been searching everywhere and I finally came across what I think is a great deal. These slide are made by Kwikee and are on Lippert site. They seem to be RV rated and I think having one on each side on the basement passthrough will work.

So for my Canadian brethren I found these on Amazon and they are the cheapest I found anywhere. http://a.co/95JTVJS

For our American friends thats about 80$ US each. I know they don't have trim package but since they are only 42 inches deep I will probably make something up myself.

Does anyone have any experience good or bad to share. Fortunately Amazon has a great return policy if these don't work.

Thanks,
John

So I answered some of my own questions. Seems they are supplied through Lippert and I found the spec sheets and installation instructions. They can carry 800lbs each. My goal would be to not store 1600lbs of stuff in the basement but we will see. And I can do different widths depending on what the basement looks like when it gets here.

The curbside cargo is approximately 4' wide & the opposite side is only about 20" so your tray probably won't go side to side. Piperguy should chime in & he did an awesome mod with a MorRyde tray.

That's my thought. Since they are 2 separate slides I can put one 42" on one side and one 42" on the other side.

John, buy them quick. I think that is a pricing error. They have 54" on Amazon.com and they are $376 US funds and the 60" are $445. That price is a steal.

I did! I bought 2 yesterday and made sure they shipped before I posted this. They will be here in the morning via FedEx. The trim kit is almost 3 times the price of the slide. Thats why I said I will just figure out a way to make my own. I just wanted to pass on what I think is a crazy good deal. Paul will tell you I'm a crazy deal hunter on internet. Hope to see my unit soon!

You probably have this all figured out, but I looked at a fellow RW owner who had installed a slide in the curbside basement. He had to put spacers in between the slider and the floor so that the slide would not foul the bottom of the door frame when it was pulled out.

Thanks for the input. I have not got this figured out. In fact as I said I'm not even sure what the Basement looks like. I just jumped on them because the price was right and I am not looking forward to crawling in and out all the time.

So the slide hardware arrived from Amazon.ca yesterday. They do look very similar to the one in the photo by Piperguy. The primary difference being that the width is not predetermined. It can be as little at 8 inches and as wide as 72". The other difference is that the slides themselves are only 42" long. I would guess 25lbs each do the weight isn't to bad.

Now in studying them and mocking it up I will make the 3/8" marine ply 46" long by whatever the width will be on each side. Giving me a slide thats 46" long on each side and minimal dead space in the middle. I am also going to cover the ply with indoor outdoor carpet. The trim kit is not required unless you need an end cap and I would use puck board or wood rather than pay for a trim kit.

Lastly for anyone in Canada or Americans with a Canadian shipping address the price has gone down even further on amazon.ca. At 114$ each and the plywood and carpet you can do the entire thing for less than $300 CDN or $200 US. For that price my back will be grateful.

John, I think they have corrected the pricing error now, when I just checked the price is now $453.15 Canadian.

Your right. Seems sometime overnight the price went way up. Sorry nobody else jumped in. I will post some pics and video after I install them.

Next thing I need to do is get my Redwood! This is like waiting for Christmas morning.
