With the OFF SEASON for some here already, Let's hear about some of the mods, and upgrades that we are planning to do over the winter months. .. ..
Perhaps we can share some of those great ideas with others.......
For me, the list is kind of short for now, the only upgrade I have scheduled is to add my RV Snap Pads..
Joe
Have to get the inverter wired in for the refrigerator and then after that run a charge wire back to the trailer harness for the car. Get a camera and get it installed and then ...... finish all the hookup for the car.
I now have all the tow pieces for the car, just need to heat the garage and install everything.
Headed to the Servicecenter on 12/26 to get some work done. Hopefully between snow storms .............
Just completed installation of MorRyde SRE4000 and cross beams on our 31SL. Anxious to see how it runs on our trip south in two weeks. Took about 5 hours by myself with two floor jacks and one bottle jack. Also changed out tires to Sailun G rated for extra load capacity. Also had the lower front end sprayed with polyurea (bed liner) to rock proof the frontal area. Tired of touching up paint chips from stones, cinders, etc. thrown up from tow vehicle wheels.
Looks nice snowbirds. Great ideal , did you spray it yourself. And what was the cost for the up grade on the tires and moryrde really looks good.
Hey joe I am new to this what is snap pads?

Sprayed by Rhino Liner dealer.
Sailuns are $250 ea mounted and balanced at Les Schwab Tire Center. Schwab are located all over the west and stand behind everything they sell with outstanding service. Also added Tire Traker remote tire pressure readout which has already saved my butt when we picked up a nail that set off the alarm and then discovered the start of a tire delamination when stopped! Don't leave home without one. 😉
What brand of liner did you have sprayed & if not to personal what did it run you, been planning to do the same for the last couple years, but haven't yet.

Ed,
They are rubber type pads that snap onto the round plate on the bottoms of the leveling pads. They were offering a discount for ROG members some time ago. They give your landing gear a larger foot point, and makes them harder to slide on slippery surface.
Look at them here. -- http://rvsnappad.com
Just completed Centrepoint, Disk brakes, Aluminium Steps (2), so before we head out again I will get the RV Snappads installed and I am planning a full corrosion prevention and repainting the of the frame. Unfortunately I find Lippert's coatings are about the same as their welding quality.
I had planned the normal power tooling, primer and Alkyd high gloss topcoat. However my son has convinced me to try a new high tech rust prevention coating that it fairly new to the marine industry. Won't have details until he get home on leave.

$475. Sprayed by local Rhino dealer. The color is a perfect match to my gray paint stripe. They can custom tint the polyurea or paint the finished product for extra money. Claim it is bullet proof. I had more than 100 rock chips in the original paint after 30 k miles.
Snowbirds,
I am having the 8000# axles, 17.5 wheels and H-Rated tires, Timken bearings, and Disc Brakes installed on December 26th by our Redwood Partner - Titan Guy. I see you installed the Mor-Ryde 4000 Suspension. I have considered the Lippert Centerpoint. In any case, did you experience an overall height increase as a result. I need to find a way to rais the back end by about 3-4 inches. I suspect the H-Rated tires will raise at least 1 inch.
And after reading this post, I might include the TT remote pressure sensors...
Your Thoughts?
I measured the height before and after installing the SRE 4000. It added 1/2 inch to the overall height. Do get some type of remote tire pressure read out. Can save a lot of money if a tire blows. The tire shop claimed my broken steel bands and delamination was probably caused by hitting something on the road or a bad pot hole which was certainly possible after the bad roads experienced on the east coast this summer.
Also do get rid of the plastic bushings in the spring eyes while your wheels are removed. Here are my original bushings after about 2000 miles compared to the new bronze bushings from MorRyde. Change the flimsy 1/4 inch shackles at the same time to 1/2 inch thick side plates also from MorRyde.

Andy,
What is broken in the frame?
Thanks joe I'll look into them.
I totally agree on the MorRyde heavy shackles & wet bolt kit, great upgrade.
