I've got a new 2017 Ford Super Duty with the Ultimate Trailer Towing Package. This package allows the use of a wired camera that integrates with the factory ford dash monitor. It also allows the addition of trailer tire pressure sensors to be integrated with the factory TPMS system. Although my coach is configured with the Furrion wireless camera mount I'd really like to use the Ford system so I don't have a separate monitor or TPMS system. Unfortunately the Ford system does not use a wireless camera so I need to run the camera harness to the back of the fifth wheel. Has anyone done this modification to their Redwood or have suggestions on the best route for the wires? The TPMS uses a wired transmitter that needs to be mounted near the axles and of course the camera harness needs to go back to the rear cap. Any feedback on getting the wires from the pin box to the battery compartment would also be appreciated. Thank you!

No suggestions how to get those mods done, but would like to hear how you do it once you do get it done.

The wire routing is fairly easy. Starting from the back, I dropped down the belly material on one side of the frame and fished the cabling from the rear clip all the way to the front by the tanks, then followed the wiring harness up into the front cabinet behind the batteries.

Getting from the front compartment to the pin box was relatively easy, I just pushed a fish tape in where I wanted at the back cavity of the pin box and it went right down into the compartment.

Getting up the back cap will be more tricky with the newer units with the LED lights. Mine had the old incandescent running lights and the holes were large enough to fish through.

I thought Redwood did start offering a camera?

I have 3 cameras on the MH, and it is great for lane changes and backing up! But I've been far "on-upped" with the new birds eye systems 🙂
