What are you using. As I full time and travel some miles, I am always cleaning the bugs off the front cap. After 12 months in this rig, I can tell I need to do something different.

An easy way to get those bugs off the cap, is to try used dryer sheets.

Reaching is the issue I'm thinking?
I usually put my ladder in the back of the truck but it's still sometimes a reach due to the arc of the nose.
If it's not the reach but cleaning, I have a gallon pump up sprayer that I mix Simple Green concentrate & saturate to front, let it sit a bit & us my brush with soapy water, they usually come off easily.

I keep a real good coat of wax on he nose, and when I travel, as soon as I am set up, I hose down the cap, 90% of those bugs come off with the hose.
It's when they sit up there and gat baked on , that's when I have the issues..

So in short , wax - carry a brush on an extension pole ( for that pesky 10% ) and hose off at the end of each travel day.

I have to say that I have been using Aero Cosmetics Wash Wax ALL since we purchased the RW and most bugs come off with little effort unless as Joe said they get baked on and I use one of those scratchless scuff pads.

I worst time I had was heading to the rally last year. I had both the truck and RW looking as pretty as I could get it since it was our first time at the rally so wanted to look good.
Well..... long story short we drove in some of the worst rain we have seen in years and then a road that the pavement had just been ground up and to top it off the CG we stopped at was about 3" of water and mud everywhere.
Needless to say I then spent about 3 hours trying to make it look pretty again.

When we pull in this year it is what it is!!!

Ok... I'll do it for you Joe.
The CG I said was water and mud is the one you bypassed and let me have the site this year again.

Oh... Toledo KOA.....

Right now I am sitting on Thomaston CT.. The campground here is really dumpy, but it is all I need for 23 hours... Full hook ups, and close to the office... No mud..( YET )

Joe,

Can you allow an exception for those of us plowing through the Saskatchewan mud, as the Prairies are currently experiencing winter storms. We experienced about 4" of rainfall in Saskatoon in just over 1 day.

Our nice clean truck and RW are now brown thanks to way too many campgrounds with wet and muddy roads.

The truck, which was washed/waxed and looked like new before we departed now looks like an off road vehicle. 🙁

Hoping to find a Blue Beacon somewhere enroute.

Jay - hope you don't have appearance standards for entry to the campground

Andy,

There is Blue Beacon Truck/RV Wash 99 miles west of Shipshewana on the I80/I90. Also one in Fort Wayne. Have Judy download the app on her phone and it quickly locates the nearest BB.

For those not familiar, BB does an excellent job washing your Redwood for about $35 and they can do your truck for another $15. They have floor sprays that wash the under carriage, ceiling sprays for the roof, and a crew of men with hand operated spray guns for the vertical surfaces. Followed up with a soft water rinse. just be sure to check you water heater cover is still in place when you depart!

For most people no, I'll be soft for them! Now for you it better be spick and span! I'm having mine washed and hand waxed by our "wash" vendor! He charges $ 150 for wash and spray on wax and $ 250 for wash and hand wax.

Thanks Terry,

I'm coming South from Sault Ste Marie, so will check I-75 for one, depending on how long it takes to cross the border.

Failing that I will use Jay's wash vendor for a wash and full wax.

Thanks Jay,

I completely forgot you arranged a cleaning vendor. Does he also do the truck?
