I recently purchased a Redwood 31SL. What are the benefits of a paid membership? The link "Read more about the benefits of paid membership" just takes me to the home page.

Congratulations on purchasing a Redwood and welcome to our growing family of fellow Redwood owners. I have pasted a link to the location of the thread where the document is uploaded.

You can also access the file using the forum index, go to ROG Updates, 2017 Membership Rates & Incentives and scroll down to post # 3. Select the attached MS Word file.

If you are unable to locate, or download please advise and I can forward by email.

Benefits of Supporting ROG with a Paid Membership

The ROG is a separate legal entity from Redwood RV and is managed by a small group of your fellow owners that willingly volunteer their time. While the ROG does not pay salaries or management fees, we do have ongoing administrative and operating expenses. Our tax exempt status, as a non-profit organisation, requires that most of our revenue must be derived from membership activities.

Therefore, the future longevity of your owner’s club depends on Redwood owners supporting the ROG with paid memberships. Following a review of operating expenses and the monetary and non-monetary benefits of a paid membership, your Board of Directors has set new rates for 2017 and introduced a couple of incentives. I trust you will find the new rates affordable and consistent with the benefits available.

As with many organisations, most monetary benefits are provided by 3rd parties and are subject to negotiation and/or availability. While the ROG will endeavour to identify and negotiate discounts and benefits in the future, we cannot provide any guarantees. However, in our short existence, we have completed and/or provided the following past and present benefits to paid ROG members:
• Discounted prices for attending ROG organised activities,
• Negotiated member discounts from vendors supplying services or components to ROG members:
o Attending the Texas RV Professor Maintenance Course,
o Titan Disk Brake installation, and
o RV Snappad group purchase and contest
• Preferential attendance at any ROG hosted event, over non-paid members, when it is over subscribed. This benefit is available until the cut-off date,
• The ROG negotiated complimentary service from Redwood service centre technicians at the 2015 and 2016 rallies,
• Access to a technical library, providing useful information to assist owners with a better understanding of the technical aspects of their coach, and to assist in solving common problems,
• An opportunity to work with other Redwood owners to develop additional technical content and the future website services requested by members.
• Liaison and communications with Redwood RV Executive Management team, via the owner’s group,
• Being part of the Redwood owner’s community linked via the club forum, website and newsletter,
• Access to the industry first transferrable warranty, at no cost to purchaser or seller, which was instigated and negotiated by ROG,
• Dialogue with Redwood RV through the owner’s club that has provided valuable product feedback, with numerous items incorporated into the new models,
• ROG communications with Redwood have assisted a number of owners with resolving issues,
• Live question & answer sessions with the Redwood Executive Management team. At the 2015 and 2016 rallies the ROG scheduled a meeting with the senior management team.
I trust that these monetary and non-monetary benefits represent an excellent value for our new lower membership rates and encourage you to support the ROG with a paid membership, to ensure the viability of your owner’s club.

Website
At the inauguration of the ROG, we identified a private area of the website would be available to paid members. The primary component of the premium or private area was to be the ever expanding Technical Library.
The current Board has reviewed this subject and have agreed that at this time our Technical Library will remain available to all members, regardless of whether they join the ROG as free or paid members.

In regards to your question on the other forum. Their are 2 distinct Redwood forums that are not affiliated. This one the ROG is a non profit as stated above run by volunteers. We also organize and hold the annual Redwood rally in Indiana. The other forum is a for profit organization run as a business, thus the advertising. There are owners including myself that are on both. The bottom line is the ability for owners to help each other with anything that may arise

Thanks for pointing out the broken link. I believe it should be resolved now.

Congrats on your new rig!
