Hello everyone. My name is Steve Guardino. My wife and I want to go full time and have been looking at units. At first was going to buy a Forrest River Cedar Creek. But now we are looking at Redwood. Our home is going up an the market and I can hardly wait to get out of here (Florida). We used to have a toy hauler and went across the country for five weeks and loved it. Looking forward to this wonderful lifestyle along with making many new friends.
Steve

Hello Steve , and WELCOME !

Are you thinking of placing a factory order , or buying off the lot ? What about options, do you have a MUST HAVE list ?
Happy Camping ,

Joe

Steve,

Welcome to the ROG forum and congratulations on considering a Redwood. The 3901MB is a new floorplan for 2017, which most of haven't seen. Redwood has made a number of changes to the running gear, which has been a hot topic for existing owners.

The running gear has substantial improvements and now comes standard with 8K axles, H tires and Centrepoint suspension. The only options for the running gear is disk brakes and changing from generic to Goodyear tires.

All RV's have manufacturing issues and defects, but how does the company stand by the product. With warranty you get 2-years, and while we are well out of warranty, all issues were fixed by our dealer to our complete satisfaction. At the recent rally we received exceptional service from the service technicians, who worked on all coaches, regardless of whether out of warranty. They are currently competing a PDI building and shortly, every coach will have a thorough PDI before being shipped to the dealer.

Hi Joe,
We are buying an order unit, not off the lot. Been pricing around. Really loading it up.

Yeah, I'm ordering disk brakes. The unit is not a light unit so disks are the way to go. Glad to see Good Year tires and that the egg roll type, (chinese).

Well, if it was up to me I'd be doing it yesterday. I have to sell the house and out stuff. It's a scary move, but one that my wife and I both agree on.
Joe, where are you from? That last name rigs all kinds of bells. I hope not on a wanted poster? , LOL.

Steve, congratulations on full-timing. We have been doing so for 6 and a half years and are not looking back. We purchased a 2017 39MB with the wine pantry. I'm not familiar with the 3901MB but would think it is similar. We upgraded from another brand and really am happy with our RW. We too attended the 2016 rally and were extremely happy with the customer service as well as the outlook that RW leadership gave us as mentioned earlier. We made the choice to upgrade to MoRyde IS and disk brakes and glad we did, I think you will be good with the new 8K axles, new suspension, disk brakes and H rated tires. I'd suggest specifying the Goodyear tires over the generics, just my personal opinion. Anyway, congrats on your decision to full-time, good luck on selling your home, ordering your RW, and hope to see you at a future rally.

Steve, congratulation's on the move to the Fulltime Lifestyle, it is a awesome lifestyle.
I have been fulltime for about 5 years now, a little over 2 years in my Redwood.
My Redwood has been a great home and provided everything I need for the last 2 years as I travel across this great country.
I will be working my way around Florida for the next few months staying a week or two at each location / stop.
As with any RV that is used the way I do (moving few weeks year round) I have had a few issues that needed to be taken care of and Redwood has always stepped up and taken care of everything.
Like others I have made upgrades to my suspension (MoRyde 8K IS Suspension and Disk Brakes) as I bought my Redwood off the lot and it had the standard drum brakes and 7K axles.
I also have made a number of upgrades / improvements to the inside of my home to make it mine.

Robert

Are the Redwoods warrantied for full time living? In our research, we have found several other high end RV models void the warranty if used full time.
