Getting closer to Rally date, everyone still wanting to meet at Winstar for first stop? We would like to start planning our route and stops if possible. With more of us together we may want to make sure there are enough sites at overnite stops on the way to the Rally.
Sorry all,
With the roof problems we are subjected to by Redwood, we can't take the chance of driving down the road. The roof has separated along both edges all the way from front to back (not to mention all of the "bubbles" in between).
We had hoped for a resolution on our 3.3 year old roof but Redwood basically told us to get lost. They apparently don't fully stand by their product when you are a second owner (The first owner had it 3 months). That roof should have lasted for at least 10 years. Anywhere close to that and we would have been happy. But since it was not installed correctly from day one, we should not have to deal with this 2nd owner or not. And that just goes along with every other problem they have provided us (see other blogs).
On the lighter side, we truly hope this years Rally is a big success. We wish you well in your travels and we hope to see you at next years Rally.
If you need any suggestions on travel routes or campgrounds, I'll be happy to chip in as we have done this route many times.
Happy Trails!
Greg...sorry to hear about your roof issues! It's so disheartening AND frustrating! Hope you can get repair/replacement completed for a reasonable price. Seems quite a few folks have had the same problem.
Bob
Thanks Bob. Maybe next year...
GipCTravelers,
Sorry to hear about your RV troubles, we were looking forward to meeting you.
Hope you get everything worked out and back to traveling soon.
We are starting to plan our route and may be asking for some of your advise from your previous trips
To the rally.
Carl & Patti , Carlibels are you still interested in caravaning to the rally?
If so let us know, we are stil open and ready to plan trip out.
Thanks
Fred & Sandy
Here we are one week before we planned on leaving for our 1st Redwood rally!!! And was camping at Jellystone park here in Canyon Lake , Tx. Hit a low tree with my 2016 36RL!!! Damaged 20' of roof line! Everyone has been great trying to expite all ends from insurance adjuster to RV repair ceneter to help us still make our trip, but, no way to get the parts trucked in from factory in time to get the repairs finish. Parts are too large to overnight so over the rode trucking is only option. So, we will not be able to caravan up to the rally or stay at the campground with everone.
BUT, WE decided to still Come even with out our RV and meet all the great Redwood owners and learn more about our RV. We have been planning for this rally trip for nearly a year now and are really excited about meet everyone and learning more about our RV.
See y'all soon!!
Fred & Sandy
"WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!!!"
Ouch - that was more than a tear! Looks like new underlayment sheeting is required. So sorry to hear that (see that too), but sounds like your spirits are high!

I was just going to say the same thing !.. I am not so sure I would be in that great of a mood....
Yep, it was hard to hold it in but I managed to keep my cooll!! At first we were going to keep the gorila tape job on and head up the rally and let the manufactory do all the repairs, but they told us they do not repair damaged units just warranty work!
We had several things we were looking at doing with it while we were there but just have to check it out while we are there and do it back here in Texas. (Pin hitch, disc breaks, and Amish furniture) Still probaly get the furniture, we can haul that back in the truck .
You will not be sorry you are coming. Sorry you can't bring your rig. There will be plenty of places to hang out between sessions. We are parked very near the pavilion, pull up a lawn chair and we will share our "yard".
So sorry about that. Glad you decided to come anyway. Not sure where we are going to be parked, but we always have room.
sorry to hear about your roof. Things seem to happen at the most inopportune time. before you do anything to your roof talk to George and Lisa as they install a permanent roof called RV Armor. This is the route I will go when I have roof issues . Enjoy the Rally
I would very very seriously consider having the RV Armor roof done rather than replace with the roof that is currently on it. Big improvement and insurance $$ will be covering a big chunk of cost.
Totally agree with Vaughan, with the insurance dollars, I would invest in RV Armour. Have a chat with George at the rally, or send him a PM.
Sorry about your roof accident; however, glad you will still be attending the Rally. You will be happy you did. This is our third Rally...would not miss it!
