Hey everyone,
I thought I would try to answer this question with some video. I’m experimenting with some options and recorded this introduction to the Rally live this morning. It’s amateur but easy enough and we may be able to do some live broadcasting of the seminars. This video is about 15 minutes and is a simple introduction to what goes on at a Rally. https://www.pscp.tv/w/bh3lwzF3QkVBa05kcFluS1B8MXlOR2FYbGJydnFLag_pR_xMUABDDpftCSEwkulLmt9AJIyglzD2X-U51x4m?t=12s

Brilliant, thanks Paul. Just made us even more depressed for being stuck on the West Coast this year.

Great job Paul! It worked like a champ.

The only issue you might run into is that some of the vendors may be "proprietary" happy and they may not let an event be recorded. But where it can be done, that would be great. You may limit the video to memberships only though...That might get you more video time.

But what a concept!

Paul,

Nice work on the video. That will be very helpful to a lot of Redwood owners who haven't been to a rally. We have enjoyed 3 previous rallys starting with 2012, 2013 and 2015. Hope to make it back next year.

It was good to meet you and your wife at the Mor/Ryde factory tour on Monday. Hope to see you again down the road.

Guy

Great feedback GipC. Posted the tentative schedule based on approval from the presenters. We’ll give it a try and see how it works!

Guy, fantastic to meet you as well. Very impressed with Mor Ryde as a company. You can tell they are a well-run organization. I’m learning that the relationships built through the rally are almost as valuable as the outstanding tech support from Redwood. Hope to see you on the road or Rally 2019.

Great Job Paul, next time you might pick a better person to interview besides that Allen guy!!!
Lol. Thanks for getting a video started to ncourage those who might not be coming to the Rally. It is so much more than having some things fixed, etc. it was s finding new friends in the same lifestyle as ourselves and sharing stories and making memories.
Allen and Kim.

Thanks Paul!
It's just like being there?
NOT!!!
Nothing besides being there is as good. But it'll have to do this year.

We miss you guys being here also. I have to say that the personal friendships being developed are almost as valuable as the tech support, and in most cases will last much longer! 😆

I was amazed how many first time Rally participants we have - seems like at least 3/4. This should be a “must do item” for every Redwood owner. Their impression of Redwood would change in a very short time. I think if we purchased a new rig, one of the first excursions would be a cross country trip on our way to the Rally. So very, very thankful for the tech support and for the Owners Group.

Great job again Paul! Just wanted to let you know that after I plugged in a set of ear buds, I was able to hear the conversation pretty well. I still had the volume pretty much at the top. But now its good.

Also tried a set of powered speakers. They work great as they have additional volume.

Just sharing in case anyone else has had difficulty hearing... 😉

Hi Everyone,

I am thinking about going to the national rally. I have a question or too. Does the camp ground sell out ? When is the dead line to sign-up ? What else do I need to know ? Does the camp ground have a limit on the size of the truck that pulls the trailer ?

Thanks for any info,
Al

The historical Rally has been held at the Shipshewana RV Park - South. Here is the website:

http://shipshewanacampground.com/

The Rally has been held at the end of July (+ or -).

If you plan to go, you won't have any problems with your RV or truck. The spaces are nice and long. They have both pull-through and back-in.

It doesn't matter when you register. You don't get to pick a space. You will be assigned upon arrival (based on availability). The ROG does not rent out the whole campground. There will be others there.

If you plan to go, you need to decide by early June. You could wait until July but the ROG discount will expire by then. It's not much if you really want to go, but after they release the remaining spots, you'll be first come, first served.

Plans are in works for the 2019 Rally. The information will be posted here once they get closer to finalizing plans (Mid Feb?). The ROG will respond to this question.

What you can expect from the Rally if you have never been:

**Food
**Fun
**Prizes
**Information Sessions
**Meetings with the Redwood President
**A Tour of the Plant
**Vendor Discounts on site
**Rig Weigh-Ins
**Getting to meet a lot of new friends putting faces to this website

If this will be your first time, you need to go if you can. You will learn a lot about your rig from others. Many share "tours" of their RV showing off unique projects they have performed (for form, function and for personalizing).

One day, you might need to work on your rig. You can get a lot of good information here (on this site) but even more one-on-one with others who have had the same problems.

Not knowing where you are, there are sometimes caravans from one's home state to (and from) the Rally. that makes the drive more interesting and if someone has a situation, there are others with you to help.

Timing for us this year is critical. We have retirement plans right around the end of July thru September. We'll be waiting to reserve until about June. The ROG will keep us posted on availability as we go thru the year.

Hope this helps...If you can make it, we all look forward to seeing you there!
