I am pleased to be able to say that ROGroups are now open to the general membership. During the launch all subscribing members can create and join groups. For complete disclosure some or all of these feature will be limited to supporting members only, for reasons described below, but for now I invite everyone to explore the features and benefits of the ROGroups.

In a nutshell ROGroups allow members to create interest groups.

These groups:

  • Allow users to join the group by invitation, moderations or be open to the public
  • Private forum area
  • Private group wall postings
  • Private photo and file postings
  • Group only events and meet ups

The really nice part about ROGroups is that each membership group can decide how they wish to manage their membership and what the focus of the group is.

  • Would you prefer the group to be open to the public?
  • Would you prefer to limit access to the group to only people you know you can trust?

Today these are fundamental questions as to how we interact with social media. It may seem counter intuitive but by limiting access to a group either through invitation or moderation the member may feel more secure and therefor they will participate more. With more participation they attract more members but with the understanding that new membership is controlled by what originally drew them to the group.

It's really hard to fully explain exactly what ROGroups offers, but I hope you'll take a few minutes and explore the possibilities.

So how to be part of ROGroups? Easy, follow the link ROGroups link at the top of the website and start to explore. Join and existing ROGroup or create a new one and start to invite members. Want to create a new ROGroup but don't see an appropriate category, let us know we can fix that.

I'm available either on this thread or by PM to help and look forward to see what great ROGroups you all launch.

Thanks for being part of the ROG!
