2015 38Gk Main slide on left hand side doesn't come flush when retracted about 1 1/2 in at the bottom and flush at the top. Two dealers told it's normal. I've owned several 5th wheels and all slides were flush when retracted. Anyone?

1-1/2 is not normal on any that I have seen. Needs to be adjusted. My slides all close tight and with only about 3/8" off.

They don't need to be perfect, but 1 1/2" off isn't correct. Should be adjusted. But remember that any adjustment to the retracted position will effect the open position. Bulb seals need to compress after making contact. If not, water and dust etc get in while traveling. Have the dealer try adjusting better.

Here is the Lippert link for adjustments. Start on page 15/16. Make SMALL adjustments or results can be devastating.

Here are a couple of other useful links as well:

My 2015 does the same thing. Curb side slide down at the bottom. I was told also that it was normal due to the something in the wheel well. I don't like it either. But my dealer seems to think nothing can be done about it.

I've adjusted all of mine with the exception of 1. And in fairness, I haven't spent a lot of time on this one. It's as if the slide is cut short vertically. The rubber slide doesn't even touch the top of the slider. So far, I've avoided storms as most of the time the RV had been in storage. But now that we are mobile, that luck won't hold out. I'll be out there shortly to work that one.

Follow the instructions posted above. Make SMALL adjustments at a time. Then, when testing the slide, go slow and have additional personnel watching all sides while in motion.

You also have to be careful not to lift the slide too high when it is out. Otherwise, when you pull it back in, you'll hit the top and damage the RV.

For end to end play, I will attach this .pdf. It is another way I found to adjust the slide. But I recommend the Lippert instructions first. This method will work because you rotate one end in at a time. I needed about 1 1/4" from one side to the other. Using the attached method is not as exact as the Lippert method but it did work for me.
