This is getting OLD!! Fix one problem only find out your have several more issues. Have any of you wise ones had any problems with your slides leaking while driving in the rain? i have driven in the rain before with no issues. Or at least I thought I had. I can't see anything that indicates i have a problem. All of my seals are in good shape. At least they appear to be. Anyone??

I can't offer suggestions without seeing your current situation in pictures...

But to try, when you pull your slides in, how much of a gap do you see between the slide and the side wall? Is it tight at the top and gaped at the bottom? Or visa versa?

If the slides are aligned properly, I would propose that maybe they are not in all the way. That would leave one gap. Maybe the front is lose and the back is tight. If you need instruction on adjusting your slides, let us know.

Where is the water coming in? You may actually have a roof leak of some kind instead.

Are all of your caulk joints good? Take a real good look. I just bought some non-marking chisels (which work great) and as soon as it cools off, I'll be replacing all of those caulk seals.

Have you checked you baggage compartment seals? I had a leak there once but lucky for me, I caught that one very quickly and repaired. I pulled into a gas station for fuel and needed a wrench. I opened the baggage door and found a small puddle that was in the basement floor by the door.

Leaks can come from a number of areas. Have you checked all of the roof seals? What about around the skylight, roof vents, roof antenna or satellite? Check the areas near the gutters.

I feel your pain. I hate trying to locate something that you can't see. And like you, I'm frustrated by crappy workmanship.

To probably get a better answer, you're likely to have to provide some additional details about where you found water and how much you found. Pictures help a lot.

You could get a water hose and start moving around the area of the suspected leak. You could use a powerwasher and simulate a vehicle in motion moving the wand down the body of the RV in the same direction as water would flow in traffic. Don't necessarily just let the water run down the side. It needs to flow in the direction of wind travel.

The thing is that you have to get this one under control quick. Mold and water damage can come fast.

I will take some pics later. Been very busy since I got home. The worst leak was at the rear of the kitchen side back by the sofa. I have looked at those seals from top to bottom. I seen nothing that would allow a leak. Yes the slides are pulled in tight. I had a small leak (compared to the one I just described.) by the refrigerator. Now the butter seal up high does have a problem there. But I am aware of it. And the leak I had there is very minimal. The other leaks were at the door slide. Right under the table in the corner by the door. That slide is closed tight. Yet the fender does not match in that it does not pull in close. The final leak was at the rear of the door side slide at the back corner. Again the slide pulls in tight. i do need help in adjusting the door side slide in that it leaves black marks on the carpet. Can that be lifted up some? So fed up with all the rinky dink issue with REDWOOD. AC, Axels springs and brakes, leaky shower. Insulation or lack there of in the front cap, on and on. Need to fix these leaks and also another issue is the faulty water line to the ice maker. YUK!!

It seemed every time I was pulling the Redwood, it caused a gully washer. We even had it in a hail/flood that got up to door of the truck the first week we had it, yet I never had a leak inside, from the top or bottom.

The inner fenders space is not water tight by any means, but I remember something about splash guards having to be in place or the wheels would throw water in. Hopefully someone recalls what I'm talking about.

Unfortunately, the only time you will ever see a recall is when it is a safety item. There are no recalls for crappy work. Otherwise, they would have to recall all of them.

Otherwise, its just considered a "Lemon" and you'll spend tons of money and years in court fighting it.

"Class actions" are the only effective ways to fight shotty craftsmanship. Multiple people with the same issues ban together.

Crazy thing is I have towed in downpours before with no issues. Not sure what now. I do admit that it was Louisiana gully washer. But i have been in some other rain storms before. Not really sure how to fix what i can't see.

Mark, take a really good look under the coach with the slides in and look at the rain flaps in front of and behind the tires. They can get moved out of place and if they don't overlap correctly you can get exactly what you described. My RL has always been very water tight even in as you described torrential downpours. About three years ago, all of a sudden we started getting a really bad water leak on the dining slide right up front next to the door. I mentioned it to Randy when we were at the Rally and he said "hang on a minute", ducked his head under the slide and sai "all fixed". I just looked at him. There is a vertical spray shield that needs to be checked occasionuas it can get behind the other flap. Take a look under and if it's this, it's obvious where it belongs

Hope this helps

Vaughan,
How about a picture ? I think I know where that is but not completely positive.

Partially - you have to have the slide pulled in to see the arrangement. There is another vertical spray shield/mudflap on the slide that forms a spry barrier when the slide is in. It can come out of place and instead of coming into the weatherstrip in front of it, it will slip behind it and then the wheels throw water right against the end of the weatherstrip and it finds its way inside onto the carpet. Both sides can do it, but mine was only on the dining slide.

My slides are out too, or I'd run it in and get a picture.

I think Vaughan was able to "recall" what I was thinking or trying to remember 🙂
