I have this little nuisance leak that I cannot track down. I have the "16" 38RL WITH the slide in slide...

It started mid way through my last trip while driving.. I would have a small puddle of water on the floor outside my bathroom door, right at the top of the steps...

Thought it was the antenna leaking -NO.. It is dripping down the CORNER of the slide room, and dripping onto the floor. We have had about 3 inches of rain over the past 1-1/2 days and it filled up the grill pan about 1/4 of the way.

Heard others with the cable system say it runs down the cable to inside. Not sure what the cure is?

Joe
I can't remember if on this site or the other it was found to be running down the cable.
They sprayed silicone lube or something else and solved there issue.
It would need to be something that causes the water to drip off
Maybe Rainex or a good wax

Could it be as simple as a top slide seal? Have you had any success tracing the water path? Your drip location looks similar to where we get water if I pull the slides in with water on top.

Joe look close with the slides out at the lower angle near the floor . Mine has Swintech drives not cables but the cap they put on where the side wall meets the floor had gaps in the caulking. the other place to look is the top out side seals my corners had a few small tears in the strait seals to the corner piece. I found cleaning them with brake clean on a rag and super glue cure that . I think a tree branch cause the issue before I owned it.

Well we had some substantial rain today and so far I am dry inside... I tossed the book at the leak doing several different areas so I am not exactly sure which did the trick, but don’t care.... I’m dry

I completely cut the clear sealant away from front and rear of that slide, used solvent to clear any residue and applied new Proflex clear..

I completely cut out the sealant from all the seams on that slide, both horizontal and vertical, I used solvent and applied all new Proflex Clear...

I am trying to not get too excited just yet, but happy for now..

Shane, if I ever get to SO CAL, you may not get rid of me... I

I am not good at caulking, but am very impressed with this ..used 3/4” bead locker blue tape on both sides, and soapy finger to smooth... worked like a charm !,,

Joe, I’m interested to learn how you removed the old, existing sealant from the seams without damaging the paint prior to applying the Proflex sealant.

Gary, very carefully ! !

1st I took a plastic caulk remover and used that in the gap..... Then I took a plastic exact -o knife and scraped as much as I could... Then I took a straight blade ( real blade ) dulled it down on some concrete and carefully skimmed little bits at at time....

there was Nothing fast about the project...

Joe - Thanks for the tips on removing the old sealant. I assumed it was not an easy task. My RW is a 2015 with decent but not perfect seals and I’m wondering if cleaning instead of removing the present seals before applying Proflex will work well. From the instructions on the Proflex tube it appears the Proflex should adhere well to any clean surface. Thanks
