Due to a quick heavy rain our awning collapsed on the side that has the motor.
We need to replace the arm assembly. We know the awnings are Unaguard, however we are being ask what brand so an arm assembly can be ordered.
Are the power awnings Carefree or A&E or neither.
Thank you for the help!

Our awning is Carefree, but we have a 2013, so don't know if they changed supplies over the years.

Once you get repairs made you can adjust the height of 1 side to facilitate even heavy rain pouring off the awning. We leave our awning permanently tilted down towards the rear of the coach and have never had rain issues.

I have ours set at the steepest pitch on both awnings & they have never held water.

Same here. We have ours set at the steepest pitch...several heavy rains and experienced no issues. We do however put the awning in at any hint of strong winds.

Us too...We almost lost it with gusts of just 20-25 mph winds. I think I'll be safe rolling it in under 20 mph.

Maybe I can look into tie-downs...

I've lost 2 awnings in y camping life , 1 early on and a stupid rookie mistake... And 1 a few years ago,we were caught in that nasty duraschio that crossed the states and caused havoc with 80mph straight line winds, with zero warning...at 2am

Is there anyone out there utilizing a canopy wind sensor to automatically retract the awning under less than ideal weather conditions (i.e. rain or wind sensors)?

Here are a couple of wind sensors. There are likely others.

What has been you experience with these devices?

Here was one persons answer to broken wind veins. A lot less expensive:

Based on previous experience with A&E awnings (both manual and automatic) my sense is that the Carefree awnings are more fragile and they tend to move around in lower wind speeds.

I roll ours up at the hint of any serious winds, I have tie downs but I don't trust the strength of the awnings so I don't use them.

We've had serious damage with a previou RV from wind damage. I'm hesitant to use tie downs because I have seen damage from there use...actually yanked the awning from the RV. I would rather be safe be safe than sorry!
