Does anyone know if there is a relay in the control circuitry of the awning. I can only operate my awning by using the "override" contacts hooked directly to a battery. I have voltage at the motor in both directions when the motor is disconnected but the voltage disappears when the motor is connected. The motor is good because it works perfectly in override. Any suggestions!!!!!

I don't have an direct experience but a neighbour with a Carefree awning had a similar experience to yours. He had no power to the awning when he pushed the buttons but his awning worked when he used the connector as you did.

He found a bad connection behind the switch in the cabinet that controls the awning. Not sure if it was a Marr (wire nut) problem or not. I would start there by pulling out the switch and looking behind. To my knowledge there is no relay. If you have a switch in the basement I would look there too.

Pretty sure there are no relays. The switch does the voltage polarity change. From extend to retract. I have heard that someone removed their awning switch and found a fuse in the wiring below the switch inside the wall. That may or may not be true in your case. I would remove the cover to the switch. Remove switch and wiring from the wall and go from there.
