We, now it has happened to me, when letting my Front Living Schwintek Slides in today in preparation to move, I had a little bit of a problem getting the off door side to come in straight.
Got setup here at Lazy Days in the Rain, let the slide out, same problem, one side is lagging and not wanting to go out, took a number of tries to get it out.
Not sure what is wrong, maybe I can get one of Lazy Days techs to look at it.

I have read other posts where it could be a lose wire at the motor, or possibly a motor failure.

I worked with it and got it all the way out, will wait till the rain from the tropical storm slow down before looking at it again.

Don't panic (yet)...

Try this first...Schwinteks have to be reset from time to time. Hold the slide in button for 3-5 seconds after fully closing. Then, do the same thing going out. Hold it for 3-5 seconds after is already out. You may have to do this a couple of times.

Is the amount of drag significant? Can you hear the motor running at all? Have someone stand on that side. If a motor is out, I don't know if it will move at all using just the opposite motor. I think it would be too much of a bind and blow the fuse on the other.

You may have already tried this. It should always be a standard practice when coming in or going out to hold the button depressed for just a few extra seconds.

DON'T
do this with the hydraulics. You'll damage your side walls.

I am going to try the reset procedures when it quits raining 🙂

The two front slides are fairly small and very light weight, so it may just be a sync issue.

It was just a bad day, traveled down to Tampa from Tallahassee, only got into light rain the last 30 miles, then it started raining heaver when I was trying to setup. (looks like the tropical storm is going right though Tallahassee, glad I left)

The first site they assigned me here are Lazy Days to had a big tree that was going to interfere with my front living slide.
I went back to the office got another site, unhooked and leveled the coach, when to plug up to the pedestal, no power on the pedestal. They sent someone to look at it, he went to the main panel for the pedestal and found the breaker for my site tripped. Reset the breaker and turning it on, it started smoking so I had to hook up in the rain and move to another site 🙁
Got setup on the 3rd site and everything worked but I am soaking wet 🙂

Bummer...

Watching the weather, many in Florida are about to get a good soaking (and this time, not from the RV Dealer)...

Rob, have you tried the Dave method of just lubeing everything involved with that motor, gears and track? Seems like lots of problems with them are cured with a good Lube Job.

I have not lubed them in a while, when the rain stops this weekend, I will do that also. Thanks for the reminder.

Be sure to use dry Teflon type lubricant in an aerosol can. Per the Lippert tech talk at the rally you do not need to lube the tracks. Only the gear mechanisms which are hidden behind the slide seals on both sides.

BTW, there is a Schwintek trouble shooting guide in the Technical Library under Manuals!

That's interesting . .

Online they say to ONLY USE CRC Power Lube with PTFE . . I would thing dry lube ( slip Plate) would work better >????

Joe,

check out the video. I wouldn't think slip plate would work properly.
I used slip plate religiously on the rails of my pull rite slider hitch. On the Schwintek I use nothing but the CRC. I lube it at least twice a year.

Thanks Ken ,
I do have a can of CRC ready to roll . . .

I was referring to what the lippert tech stated at the rally -

quote - "Be sure to use dry Teflon type lubricant in an aerosol can. Per the Lippert tech talk at the rally "

PTFE is the stuff. I think it is all Teflon like. My slide mechanism makes less noise and runs smoother after a few shots to the drive gears.

Still not able to get my Left Front Living Schwintek Slide to work correctly.

Sprayed the Motor / Gear set with the CRC Power Lube, no improvement in operation.

Checked all power connections at the controllers and at the main power terminals up front, nothing loose.

Swapped sides with the Slide Controllers, (left side to right side and right side to left side) Left Side Slide still does not work correctly, Right side still works fine.

Not sure what my next move is 🙁

"Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications. The best known brand name of PTFE-based formulas is Teflon by Chemours."
