Not good Shane, still having problems
Still not able to get my Left Front Living Schwintek Slide to work correctly.
Sprayed the Motor / Gear set with the CRC Power Lube, no improvement in operation.
Checked all power connections at the controllers and at the main power terminals up front, nothing loose.
Swapped sides with the Slide Controllers, (left side to right side and right side to left side) Left Side Slide still does not work correctly, Right side still works fine.
Not sure what my next move is 🙁
Rob
I have replaced both motors in my large slide. The wires on the pigtail you plug the control cable into were soldered directly to the printed circuit board on the motor with nothing else holding them. The new replacement ones have been upgraded so the pig tail is secure. This is more Han likely your problem. You have to go outside the trailer and hopefully the slide is out and remove a screw under the wiper out of the motor. Then from the inside you can get at the motor without hopefully having to take the fascia off, take a screwdriver and pop the motor up.you cneal then pull it out and check to see if this is the problem.I have replaced both know on my big slide and bought a spare for this one and the slide in slide

I have opened and closed the front slides at least 50 times over the years, never had a problem. These are small lightweight slides on the my Front Living Floorplan, they have always worked perfect then all of a sudden this one started giving me problems last week.
Hope Lazy Days has replacement parts in stock since I am still at their Campground.
Hey Rob; get on the computer and go to YouTube and type in schwintech slide troubleshooting. there should be a couple of videos on it. it helped me troubleshoot my issue.
Thanks, I have watched the videos last night, will try to see the controller error codes today.
The slide that is giving the problem of course has the most difficult access.
Fist of all the controller is in the back of the storage area (my FL model does not have pass thru storage) behind the storage wall panel in the plumbing area, so I have to remove the rear panel and crawl to the back of the storage area to see the slide controller.
The Slide motor that is acting up is the hardest motor to get to, that slide wall is up against the entertainment / TV so it is difficult to get to. (the other 3 slide motors on my FL Slides have fairly easy access)
I had a bad wire on my motor. I wish I was closer to help you out. I have a spare motor on hand but we are in Maine.
Got the slide motor out, had to remove the slide fascia to access due to being next to the TV / Fireplace. (The other 3 Slide Motors are accessible without removing the fascia)
Now to see if Lazy Days has one in stock (their parts website shows "In Stock"
I have already ordered a spare / backup motor from Amazon (much better price than Lazy Days will charge me)
Thanks Shane and others, after the info I read here and the online manuals / videos it was pretty easy to get out (after I removed the fascia (which really was not all that bad 🙂 )
Now the real treat, putting it all back together correctly !!!
Could you notice anything goes wrong with the motor
Could you notice anything goes wrong with the motor
After swapping the controllers yesterday and taking the slide apart this morning, I checked the wiring and all checked out good, assuming it is a motor failure.
Nothing visually wrong with the motor that I could tell.
Guess I will see if a new motor fixes it tomorrow morning.
Lazy Days has a Big Labor Day Weekend Sale on their giant sign out front but they are closed today and all gates locked 😆 (Camping World down at the next exit is open and very busy)
Sure hope it's the motor after all that
Sure hope it's the motor after all that
Me too, but this has been a real learning exercise, I will know how to take care of, maintain and repair the Schwintek slides going forward.
Before long I will be a Redwood Master Tech 🙂
Robert,
I know it's too late at this point, but did you happen to just unplug the controller & plug it back to reset it? I've done that to the controller, also a couple friends, for the jacks when they wouldn't work, don't know if it would work the same for the slides.
Our bedroom slide would be out in one side about 3" when we bought it & the guys at the service lived it up & synced it & it's worked great since.
I'm sure you know the sync procedure, but for those that don't, run the slide out about 3-4" then back in continue to hold the button for 3-5 seconds after it's in & repeat this 3-4 times each time holding the button after It's in then run it all the way out & hold the button 3-5 seconds after it's completely out. Each time you use the slide be sure the hold the button those few seconds after it stops moving.

Yep, since I removed the Left and Right side slide controllers and reversed places with them, they were unplugged for about 15 minutes while making the swap.
No difference, the Right Side still works good and the Left Side still does not.
Well I got my Left Front Living Room Schwintek slide fixed.
That was certainly a learning experience, but now I know exactly what to do next time when I have problems.
The left side of the Schwintek slide was stopping and dragging, I checked all connections, swapped slide controllers with the other slide, still the left side of the slide on the left side of the coach was stalling and stopping.
I pulled the motor out and it looked fine but I went ahead and got another motor from Lazy Days Parts counter (they had 5 in stock)
I installed the new motor (as Shane said earlier, it has a new style wiring connection) tested the slide and it did the same thing.
Ok, now what !!! I pulled the motor out of the right side of the slide, and sure enough it had a broken wire !
I installed the motor I had removed from the left side of the slide that looked ok and then tested the slide, it worked perfect.
It must have been the feedback was damaged on the right side motor and it was causing the left side motor to stop because it was so far out of sync.
The Schwintek Motor at Lazy Days was $198, but they had it in stock and now my slide works perfect.
I went ahead and ordered me a spare / backup motor from Amazon for $130 for the next time I have problems. (now that I have a spare / backup motor I will not have any more slide problems for a long time, I hope)
Good to hear Robert
