A frequently occurring problem is that the ABS plastic fenders crack where the sheet metal screws attach them to the side walls of the slides.
It appears that this happens because the screws are over tightened at assembly and compress the plastic fender. The vibrations from traveling down the road then cause stress fractures at the screw locations. These cracks can be repaired by obtaining ABS two-part Epoxy cement from an automotive parts store. The fender can be removed by removing all of the fastening screws. Then the crack can be repaired and the area built up on the backside of the fender by using the ABS epoxy cement. Following the reassembly of the fender to the sidewall the repaired area can then be painted with touch up paint.
