For those of you that have Deeded Lots in RV Resorts, what do you do for insurance? Ours can be rented out if we aren't using it, so it seems like we should have insurance. Insurance companies are giving us much higher rates than we expected.

Ours can be rented out but that would be something we would have to do on our own and there is not "Property Management" at our Resort.

The Resort infrastructure, water, sewer, swimming pool, clubhouse, roads and common area maintenance is done by the Resorts owners.

We would only let friends or family members rent / use our deeded RV Lot for short terms, really not interested in renting it frequently or for long term.

Talking to contractors this week about building a approximately 400 sq foot cabin with a large screened porch on our RV Lot for us to enjoy relax in and when family / friends visit us a place to stay (most RV Lots in our Resort have a cabin of some type). It would have a bathroom, small kitchen, small loft / sleeping area and a living area. You are not allowed to live in your cabin with no RV, rules say you must have a RV on your lot to stay here.

Have not addressed the insurance question yet, that is on my list. Hope we are not hit too hard with costs.
