And I thought we'd be the 2nd (and only other) Redwood FL with a kitchen island, thanks to Steve+Char's inspirations. I guess there will be more coming down the path.

We removed our fixed table, converted the space to extra storage below the buffet, and built a kitchen island that adds a bunch of extra storage for kitchen appliances like the toaster and coffee but and doubles as a dining table. I think the most fun was the hand built butch block counter top.

The flip down section is so we can access the fridge while the slide is in.

I see a number of things in the new Redwood FL iteration that are not as nice as the basic floor plan in our 2015, but I'll wait and see the unit in the flesh before commenting.

The only thing left for us to do is stain and seal the base cabinet and then do the final install.

Just curious!
When we looked at the FL models the Big drawback was the severe lack of closet space in the bedroom, how have you compensated for that? Or did they change that after the '13 models?
Also the tv was in the nose which made it like the RE, 90 degree seating to the tv.
Haven't looked at one since due to those 2 issues which absolutely didn't work for us.

Still looks like no second door to give access to the bathroom with the slides in. Big mistake in my opinion, thought they were going to bring it back.

Something tells me that is not a true 2018? My guess is that is a late edition 2017 branded as 2018.. I had heard that the second door was scheduled also..

The closet space in the bedroom for us hasn't been an issue. Although there is no full length space to hang things up we don't need it and the other storage is very adequate. We actually added some shelving on one side to the closet and use it that way. Any hanging stuff we can fit in the other hanging area.

That said, we aren't very formal people. I only travel with a jacket because I need one to eat dinner at my parents place in their dining room. My wife doesn't have any long dresses so again, no need there.

I agree with you on the tv in the nose, that is not desirable. Our 2015-38FL has the TV facing aft between the kitchen and FL area. We replaced the 2 reclining chairs in the nose with a sleeper couch so now actual have a second sleeping area if needed. We also removed one of the couches in the slide and replaced it with a big desk, so we have a regular desk chair which we can use to watch TV as well.

I agree with Michelle & Ann. Not having access to the bathroom when underway is a complete show stopper for us.

It also looks like they further reduced the closet space by moving the washer/drying cabinet into the bedroom. It looks like they may have also taken away the big window in the bedroom. Heavy sigh :(.

Finally it would appear that the pantry space in the kitchen has been reduced in size and the extra space that is in the kitchen in our unit between the kitchen and FL area is gone.

Not sure if this is a final floor plan or not. I don't see it on their website yet.

The dealer we ordered/bought from was pushing the FL really hard when we 1st looked, maybe because he had 3 on the lot with 1 RE, & we didn't like any of them. Since then we don't/haven't looked at any front living models based on those couple, but they have sure gotten popular in all brands.

No second door would also be a deal breaker if you can't get to the bathroom with the slides in. Only part we don't like with ours is that we have to walk through the bathroom to get into the bedroom. After our MH was the same way we said we would not do it again but we loved this unit and we gave in but NOT our next one so curious to see the new FL in person.

They still don't have one of these!!!!!!

And Steve my bet is they never will build one like that. What an awesome addition!! Wish I had the tools, the place & most of all the skill to do that kind of work.

Still like our FL model better than anything I have seen in recent years, works great for us, hope to have it many more years

Buying new Truck in a few weeks, need a couple of years to get it paid for before I start thinking about another 5th Wheel
