I know it is easy to complain, I wanted to give some positive feedback on Lippert (LCI1.com)
We have been struggling with our big bedroom slide for about a year. Sometimes it would get stuck in, sometimes it would get stuck out. Slide was working during the rally, of course, would not duplicate the problem. A week after we left the rally, our slide would not come in. We reached out to Lippert. They walked us through how to get the slide in (the normal manual override would not work).
Lippert fit us into their Service department when we could be in Goshen. They worked on our slide system for 2 days. They did not let us leave until they were totally satisfied with the way the slide was working. They communicated with our extended warranty--who approved paying for the repair. Everyone we dealt with was professional, knowledgeable of their job and cared about meeting our needs. They listened to our concerns. Without exception, they all spoke very highly of being a Lippert employee and believing in Lippert and the products. One conversation talked about the positive changes Lippert has made to improve their product and their customer service.
Anyway... Thank you and Good Job, Lippert!
George, just curious if they offered or considered upgrading yours to the PowerGear SlimTrack system that LCI now owns. It is a relatively easy changeout for the Schwintek.
G & L - So glad to hear of your positive outcome!

No, we didn't talk about a different system. They upgraded hardware--our understanding is everything except the rails and motor were upgraded to the new design, but there was no mention of a PowerGear.
I second your praise of LCIs customer support. I recently had the bearings/hubs inspected and repacked on my new to me '17 36RL. Of course it was discovered that one wheel on each side had severe grease contamination. After a call to Lippert they agreed to send 4 new complete back plate assemblies. I had to pay for the labor which was minimal additional cost when combined with the inspection/repack labor since I am a second owner (according to Lippert the 2-year warranty only applies to the original owner!). Lippert delivered the parts immediately and the job was completed within a few days. With all of the issues these rigs have and the fact that Lippert supplies so much of the content it is wise on their part to be generous in at least supplying the parts under warranty.
Gary,
The ROG discussed warranty transfer with Redwood back in 2015. They initiated a warranty transfer program, for coaches that only have the 2-year warranty (not the 5 yr structural), but initially charged a fee.
On assuming their positions in 2016, the new management team cancelled the fee and warranty transfer is now free.
Application can be made on the Redwood RV website.
