They are apparently required in Texas as part of your RV Safety "KIT".
"Flares" can be bought in the 15 minute or 30 minute burn range each. The LED's would stay light for hours.
The down side is, if you are like me, you might forget to keep a spare set of batteries...By the time I actually need this, the old batteries would probably be dead... 😛

Wow, $86 just for the triangles. I paid less than that for the entire bag.
During the test the examiner didn't even want to see it. I mentioned emergency equipment and he ticked the relevant boxes.

It's in our handbook. They probably won't ask here either. I think it's more about the economic engine running... But if you ever needed one, it's probably going to be at night. It's just the way things usually go.
For what I paid for the day time triangles and the flares, I could have had the LED set.
