So the buffet behind the table is gone also
Looking at the pic Tony sent , I did not see it.. That would explain the loss of the TV..
here is what I was looking at - -
Without the buffet it looks like another cheap crossroads. They may have upgraded the suspension but still have the led glitter heated massaging seats. All the stuff that sells but did away with the the practical things you need in a fulltime rig. We are looking to change and these changes do not do a lot to keep us in a redwood
Yes, it looks like we get the bottom of the theater seating lit with blue LED , and no buffet or outside TV... I just saw that
Gotta say ~ so far I'm not impressed. Redwood had the chance to re-invent itself and I don't see where they pulled it off.
At the Hershey show, other than DRV and the upper end New Horizons, the most impressive was Grand Design. Lots of new and innovative floor plans, quality is good, and if you talk to one of their owners, they stand behind them the way Redwood used too ..........
Seth
Are you listening
Everyone has different ideas of what they would like in an RV. REDWOOD HAS UPGRADED THE UNDER carriage which was needed and rightly so with the weight they carry. They have listened to a point on what a fulltime unit should be. As a fulltime unit you need a good suspension that will handle the amount of storage space and weight the unit shold have and will carry. You need it to be a 4 season unit with the insulation, heating and air conditioning to match.the glitz and glitter is great but should be an option. Now I know on an assembly line it is hard to deviate from the mass production. But if people are willing to pay for the extras like I would you need to expand the option list. Eg outdoor TV, painted slides etc. As a business owner 1 lost sale is 1 to many
Definitely not impressed with the changes. Like others, I love the shelves with netting and rear storage. The change to the table is a down grade. I guess I will be keeping my unit for a long while as the new changes are a turn off.
Options could = $$ if done properly for RW .. . .if I were to order right now , I would opt for the outside TV , shelves and netting in the basement.. And I am sure RW would make money on those...
And yes , 1 lost sale is in fact 1 too many...
Joe,
The picture you are looking at is for the new 340RL, it is the only floor plan that I am aware of that does not have the buffet at the table. All the other models still have the buffet. I agree with many of the comments so far. They need a bigger option list, they need to listen to customers and not the buyers and production managers. They have a great product and need to add the extras that customers want. The washer dryer is an option that we would buy, but it has also been removed. It is impossible to get a refer without an ice maker.
Here is a list of the floor plans to date. Two more are coming soon. One will be a front living and the other will be the 380RL.
I like the shelf's/with nets, rear storage, and no one mention the man thing (TOOL BOX), is it still there. Good with the lino, and cord reel. Guess this will be my 1st and last RW.
For the customer, options are a great way to personalise the coach in a cost effective manner. We have a 36FL, which has a tiny basement, so the rear storage for us would be one of the first options selected.
However, outside TV is not a priority. In almost 4 years I think we have used the bedroom TV maybe twice, so why pay for a 3rd TV. However, if a better quality living room TV was an available option, we would probably go for it.
With respect to seats, we do like the theatre style seating, which would go well in the slide of our 36FL. However, do want heating, cooling and LED lights - No thank you. The basic seat with manual recliner should be standard, with electric recliner, massage, heating, cooling, LED lights, etc being options.
An extensive option list does create issues on a production line, but car manufacturers got it right many years ago. When we ordered our first truck, the list of options was huge. It even included a choice of GVWR from about 5 options. Why can't RV's have GVWR options, as the needs of full timers are different from weekenders, which are again different from boondockers.
I am noting all of the comments guys. This does influence the changes that are made. Yes the picture that was posted was for the 3401RL. (The "1" denotes a residential fridge) There are complete photos of this model on the website now and the others are coming. I will also make sure the GM's get the list. It is difficult to please everybody but I know they took previous suggestions into account.
In regards to the better quality big screen, we significantly upgraded to a 55inch curved LED TV. Part of the reason we were able to do this was because we got rid of some of the less popular options (like the outside TV) this in turn gave you the upgraded living TV. The outside storage in the pass through is now prepped, allowing the buyer to use any size TV they prefer.
