We are new Redwood owners and new to the Forum. Hello! I travel extensively for work and am away from home for extended periods. We were excited to "upgrade" from our Montana to the Redwood. The coach has great paint and an impressive interior; however there the honeymoon ends. This unit has more issues out of the box than all of my previous RV's combined. I have some 30 issues total, both latge and small. Has anyone else had issues with quality on their Redwood? I'm trying to decide if my next visit to an RV dealer should be to fix or trade.

Lots of folks here came from Montana. We had 2 Montana's before. The Redwood had more issues, mainly suspension, but with some diligence and time, it all came together and was a good rig. Ours was a 2014.

We just moved up from a Bighorn to a new 39 MB in May. There were a few issues, but no more than our Bighorn or any other of our previous 6 RVs. We've never had luck getting repairs done at a dealer, no matter the brand. We attended the Rally in August and were treated Royally by Crossroads Customer Service where they addressed all issues we pointed out plus tweeted others we hadn't even noticed. We all should be able to get satisfactory repairs from our local dealers but it simply doesn't seem to exist in the RV world, reguardless of brand; sad but true. Try your dealer, but if you can get it to the CrossRoads Service Center I think you'll be impressed. Good Luck!

My 2016 RW was dropped off at the dealer for the first time in 14 months yesterday for 4 small warranty items . .i could fix them myself , buy chose to let them do it..
#2 awning LED's stopped working ( bad wire in the wall somewhere)
The cabinet doors above the dishwasher need to be adjusted, can't close separately
Black tank valve has a small leak, always seam to have a bit of dark liquid when I don't want any.
Slide toppers need to be tightened , just a little bit

Reading various articles and checking out other forums, all RV manufacturers have quality issues, however, in our experience Redwood have stood by the product.

In addition to the excellent service from the technicians at the Rally, all our warranty issues were approved quickly and our dealer resolved everything. Yes, we are fortunate, having attended 2 dealers and both were exceptional - Fraserway in Abbotsford, BC and Hitch n Go in Delhi, Ont.

We have a 2013 and are covered by the 2+5 warranty, while newer coaches have a 2 year bumper to bumper. The exceptional warranty was one of the key criteria of us selecting a Redwood

Since you need yours as a working fulltimer I'd contact RW & have them set you up with a mobile technician, most times they do better work than any dealer & come to you. Sorry to hear of all your issues, nothing more aggravating than having a lot of problems in a new rig except having to deal with dealer techs That I wouldn't let work on my little red wagon.

Thank for the replies! Most of you seem to be having the typical RV buyer's experience. It seems my coach was apparently built on a Friday after the company Christmas Party (with alcohol). My local dealer, also a service center, was completely useless. Their delivery checkout was a joke. They ran my dishwasher to check it out - with out assembling the basket and with all of he paperwork still in the dishwasher. They completely missed the holes hacked into the belly pan. They apparently didn't notice the awnings are wired backwards although they were out when we arrived for pickup. The two A/C'c can't cool under 85 degrees on a 95 degree day running continuously.RW cust service was no help, kept giving me the name of service centers who were either out of business or didn't work on RW coaches any longer. Finally told them I would find a service tech when I moved to my next assignment. Afterall, Austin TX is such a small place. Would love a Ralley, where do I find a schedule?

OK, now that just falls into the Darwin category - as bad as them checking the vacuum with the bags still in plastic stuffed inside.

We currently schedule 1 National Rally every year in Northern Indiana. Next one is 3rd week in July and will be in Shipshewana, Indiana.

Be there or be square!

Besides,

You will get great customer service while you're there

You can have a few good meals

You will certainly meet a lot of great people.

And it's also a chance to get the wildebeest out and stretch the legs after being in storage for so long.

Our 2013 RL is our fourth RV. We have been really impressed with the quality of our unit. Sorry to hear about your issues however, as some have mentioned here, all makes of RV's have some fit and finish issues. Once those issues you listed (all very fixable) I trust you will enjoy your RW for many years.

Joe,
Unfortunately, some of your issues are more common than many RW owners wish to admit. For starters the AC system. It cannot completely be fixed no matter where you take it. It can be improved but not completely fixed due to RW unwilling to admit their design failure. So live with it. LOL! only it is not funny. Do I love the RW? yes. It does have many issues. Most of them can be fixed over time. Good luck to you and hang in there.

All RV's have some issues when they come from the factory. I was fortunate (although I didn't think about it at the time) that I bought a unit from our dealer that was a "show" unit, he had it at a couple of RV shows before I bought it. I didn't ask him but I expect that he fixed issues he found before taking it to the shows. He's also an excellent dealer and looks after any issues that I have (fortunately not many). I also enjoy looking after some minor issues myself (like trim falling off etc.).

As for some issues brought up on the forum (like cheap suspension components wearing out in a couple of years) I've seen these on other RV's we've owned and this group has brought these issues to Redwood's attention in an effort to improve the quality.

Sorry to hear of your issues, but don't give up on Redwood yet. We bought ours one year old and are full timing in it since August. We have had no issues except a leak in the ice maker line, A/C works more than satisfactory, and just tonight getting to try out the heater/fireplace. And it is still the most beautiful rig in the park! We are looking forward to next year's Rally.
