Andy, it goes without saying.....most Presidents are always on vacation! LMAO
Thanks for the reply!
Jay - just trying to lead by example. Sure glad we couldn't bring the Redwood. The roads have shrunk since I was a kid. Even the truck wouldn't fit on many roads.
Regarding Keystone, at the last rally we were advised an owner benefit of RW being grouped with Keystone was that we could now get service at RW/CR, Dutchman RV & now Keystone RV dealers. I do not believe that has changed. However, last summer we were advised that RW/CR, Dutchman RV & Keystone RV were still separate brands operating in a group called Keystone Group. I am trying to find out if this arrangement has changed and we are now a Keystone RV brand.
I just saw this posted on the other site by another RW owner.
I called Redwood this morning. The person who answered identified herself as Crossroads but then told me I was speaking with Keystone. When I asked about making an appointment with the service center, I was told that was no longer possible. She said any appointment to bring our RW to the service center (which now would be Keystone) would have to be made through our dealer. Then she said Keystone would pick it up and bring it to the service center. Which in our case, being on the west coast, it would go to the Oregon service center
I was told the same thing. I called my dealer and the service department was clueless. Said they would look into and call back - zzzzzzzzzzz - So my question is: Does anyone have knowledge of a good, reputable, friendly, prompt, qualified Redwood authorized service center in/around Elkhart/Topeka. I am scheduled at MorRyde June 29-30 for IS - 8K - E/H upgrade. I also have a couple of warranty issues I would like to take care of while in the area. Any suggestions? Okay, okay. Drop all of the adjectives prefacing "Redwood authorized service center in/around Elkhart/Topeka" and please try again. Thanks, Bob
Got my Redwood dropped off at the Crossroads / Redwood Service Center in Topeka IN this morning.
Went over all issues with them, they took the time to explain what they were going to do to correct and how
Very impressed with initial contact and drop off, should pick up the morning of Wednesday 7/19 and head over to the Rally
Rob, Randy and his crew are as good as it gets. Great people with great skills.
We had our "Meet with the Tech" at the Rally in July. Although the Service team had shown up to fix our two items, our Tech appointment turned out to be more than what could be handled at the Rally.
Since we were staying near the area, Redwood (and us) decided that the issue needed to be handled at the Crossroads Service Center. We set the date off as far as possible so they could handle other attendees from the Rally sooner. Our appointment was set for September 6th, and Randy and his crew did what they do best.... satisfy customers!
Our problem was unique. We are out of warranty (2 + 5) but we had warranty work done at our dealership for a repair to our Galley tank. (as it had fallen down). Low and behold, the dealership fixed it... sorta... and it started leaking and dripping out from the membrane. Redwood ended up fixing cracked pipes and loose connections that the dealership left behind.
They also went through and fixed a few other things that was a dealership fix or install, plus looked at concerns we had on issues not on their work order. All of them were handled with professionalism and concern for customer satisfaction. Again, we were totally blown away by the outstanding service we received.
While talking with them, they mentioned that if items are not on the work order, they will not have the parts available to fix it. With the Keystone factor, all of the (repair) parts are in Goshen now, so if you needed a new bracket enclosure for your diva closet (which before would be on the premises), they can't fix it unless it's on the work order and they have the part delivered to them from Goshen.
One little fix we were able to get done... you know that pesky screw that keeps backing out of your fender from vibration? We always had one that we'd have to check and screw back in. We just happen to mention that to them in passing and they used a little silicone caulk on the screw threads, and once it dried, the screw would not back out anymore. Nice to know!
I only wish we could clone the service department out to every dealership selling Redwoods! Kudos!
From reading other post, now I'm guessing it would take an act of Congress to ever get the chance to take it to Randy & crew. First you have to jump through all hoops at sorry dealerships hoping to get to take it to Topeka where would actually get fixed.
