REDWOOD Sighting Today - 06/10/16

While driving around today looking at MotorHomes and 5th Wheels, we drove into the Yogi Bear Campground in Alvarado, Texas (just South of Fort Worth about 10 miles or so on I-35).

Anyone recognize who these folks might be? Really unusual to see (3) Redwoods at one campground. I guess they can be having their own mini-rally! :woohoo:

You gotta like kids cause there were thousands of them...!

Some of the turns were tight but that should not discourage you. There are a number of places to park otherwise. If there are 3 Redwoods there, you should be able to get in with no problem. Stay away from the back row on the North end of the park. There are tree obstacles that I'm not sure "I" could get around. We were in the truck without the RV.

Speaking with the attendants, they say that you might need a 2 weeks reservation.

The pools are great and that is what the kids go for. They also have paint ball (if you're into that kind of thing), inflatable jump houses and golf carts. As we understand it, you have to pay for all of the extra goodies.

There are also a lot of rental cabins that they rent out.

There are a lot of trees there. But there are some lots that don't.

We still have a couple of older kids here and since it's so close, we may take them for a weekend.

Hope this helps.

Yikes GipC!

This one will have to go on the back burner! We could stay for a Month at another campground for the price of a long week-end there!

For a local DFW stay, you may want to consider this one. Grapevine Mills. If you want to "shop", the Grapevine Mills Mall is humongous and not too far away. So is the Bass Pro Shop. Grapevine (old town) is kinda fun to walk thru.

Here is a link to the campground:

I have a reservation at Grapevine after I leave the Rally in August and head to Texas for a few weeks.
Looks like a awesome Campground

Haven't been there since before their flood, but then it was VERY nice. When driving to it you'll think it can't be in this housing area, but VIOLA that it is.
