At last year’s rally, someone mentioned a company near Shipshewana, IN where you can take your RV'S screen door and they will add plexiglass and turn it into a storm door. Does anyone have the information for that company?

I just saw this link: http://rvdoorbuddy.com/ on a different thread. It isn't the company you were referencing--but looks like they use the same product.

I used this product and really like it. They are based out of Myrtle Beach, SC. I know that. A few people here made their own with great success... I found it easier at the time to purchase it already made. I believe they run about $250.00 for the complete setup..

How do they deal with the area in the middle? Does it slide? Also, do you feel like you loose heat and cool? Did you go clear or tint?

I received a small piece of plexi glass for the middle section. We LOVE having the main door open all summer so we can see out, but really lost a lot of temperature like this..

This weekend i purchased the EZ Snap window screens that were mentioned in another thread.. I cut pieces to fit over the plexi glas and WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE.!!! I was on the beach with full sun on the curbside of the Redwood all day. It was too breezy for the awning so no help there... The outside topped out at 90-94 degrees, while the inside stayed at 75-78 with the main door open..The only thing stopping the heat was the plexi glas and the EZ snap window screen

As silly as it sounds - I used the shrink wrap for windows and it worked fantastic.

As with others, I didn't like that door closed, and I never got around to making plexiglass covers, so at my brothers suggestion around the campfire we ran to a hardware store and got one of the window kits http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1287690. You just put 2 sided tape around the edges, lay out the plastic over the tape, trim it, and shrink it with a hair dryer.

It was supposed to be temporary for the vacation, but it lasted 2 more seasons.
