I'm done with Redwood now or in the future...
Gip, I hate that you feel this way. You are one of our resident experts on fixing our Redwoods! I appreciate the thoroughness of your input on our forum.
I guess I'm glad that our RW is out of warranty???? The extended 7 year I bought from Wholesale Warranty approves and even prefers Mobile Techs, but I haven't had to use it.
To the OP, there is a Michigan RW two spaces down and he has been very happy with his dealer. Will try to get the name today and pass it on.
Maybe we need to start a thread on great dealers. Sounds like the list would not be very long.

Thanks for that feedback. I'll continue to contribute as long as we still own the Redwood.
For now, I'm just waiting for the weather to cool just a bit further. Then, I'll install the new roof. And by years' end, I should have the underbelly properly insulated, the electric dump valves installed, the black/gray tanks properly supported and the generator installed. As you can tell, we don't have plans to sell tomorrow. We're already too deep in. BUT, when we do trade off, it won't be another Redwood unless some dramatic changes are made. I'm not holding my breathe.
On the "Wholesale Warranty", were/are you obligated to return to a preferred dealership each year for an inspection? Remind me...Are you full-timing? If so, how has that worked out for you?
On our "Warranty Forever" program, we were forced to jump through ridiculous hoops in order to remain in compliance. I'm glad we had it for the 1st year, but after that, it would have been a pain to deal with. Of course, knowing what I now know about this particular defective Redwood product, I would have just rented a hotel for 3 months while they did the inspections. Not sure how that would have balanced out....
I hope your having a great time wherever you are!
Happy glamping! 😉
Thanks for all the contributions Gip, you are a wealth of knowledge, and the forum would lose a good, seasoned contributor if you chose to go..
I for one am glad your here, i have learned a ton from your posts!
Joe
Recent changes to Redwood's warranty response have eliminated the option for owners to schedule appointments with the factory service centre. Now we must visit a dealer and if the dealer can't handle the repair, they refer the coach to the service centre.
The latest change is that they will no longer approve Mobile Techs for warranty work, unless they are subcontracted through a dealer.
Although it is about 300 miles and across the border I would give Hitch N'Go RV in Delhi, Ontario a call. They do excellent work and are fulltimer friendly.
Further emails with Redwood today have helped to clarify changes with respect to using Mobile Techs for warranty work. Today I was advised that some mobile techs are still acceptable for warranty. The website link "Find a dealer" provides acceptable options.
However, I tried a number of locations, but only received lists of dealers, which have increased 10 fold with the addition of Keystone dealers. I have asked the question, how many mobile techs are approved and await the answer.
Apologies for any confusion.

If so, how is it working?)Our wholesale warranty does not require an annual inspection. They normally require an inspection upon insuring a used unit, but then waived that requirement since it was only about a year old. When I bought the policy they said to call them first as they would assist in finding a service center or mobile tech, which I will appreciate if the time comes.
We are full-timing, currently in West Yellowstone.
To the OP, there was no activity around the Michigan RE this morning so will check later tonight. I am in Rexburg Idaho today getting new front tires and oil change in the truck.

Oriana, I/We appreciate your attempt to follow up with Redwood. But as you pointed out, the Dealership link is still worthless. I have suggested to Redwood that they update their links in the "Suggestions for Redwood" link to INCLUDE Mobile Techs. I'm not sure why there would be any objections.A repair is a repair... It is assumed that Redwood would formulate some kind of background checks or "membership" forms to clear valid Mobile Techs. They could even go as far as to charge membership fees to the Mobile Techs who "belong" to their service club. There are a number of ways that this could have been or should be handled. We'll continue to watch and see if there is ANY reaction...
I think a lot of this is out of Redwood/Crossroads hands and is being dictated by Thor. The Service Center is now a Ghost Town, everyone is gone except Randy and a few Techs. All parts have been moved over to Keystone in Goshen, so that now adds a day to normal repairs.
This Dealer issue wouldn't be a problem if there was some way to make those Dealers prove that could replace a light bulb in less than a month.
We love our RW, but if a time comes that it needs a major repair that's above and beyond our ability we might be looking else where also, something not owned by Thor!!

^^ Not too many options there !!
I tell yah Cabelas has some nice looking outfitter tents with all the essentials
I'm still keeping tabs on Augusta RV, as they have a Wide Body and doing 3" walls in the Luxe.
But right now I have sights on a possible 2018 GM upgrade.

There is an Ambition a few spots down from me right now, decent looking... The last time here there was what looked to be a brand new Luxe, what a good looking unit !! From the outside atleast.......
Any one know of a Service Department near Kalamazoo Mich that will do Warranty Work on a Red Wood.
We are full time RV's and will be in the Kalamazoo area for the rest of Sep. As we purchased our RV in Texas and don't plan on going back I am struggling to find a service department that will do warranty work. I was planning on taking it back to Redwood and have the work done, but they have informed me I need to take it to a Redwood dealer.
Help
Finally talked to the 36RL owner from Michigan. He purchased from American RV in Grand Rapids but they are no longer a Redwood dealer. He said they have done warranty and still do the maintenance work on his because he purchased there, but they discontinued selling Redwoods about 2 years ago. Probably no help to you. Sorry!
Thanks for all your comments, looks like we are all in the same boat.pretty pore service on these expensive coaches. I contacted Tiara RV in Elkhart Indiana. They are willing to accept pictures so we don't need to make two trips to the dealer. Looks like I will need to wait until the first of Oct for service.
It's really disappointing Redwood will not accept units at the factory, when they are under warenty. I guess I should have made a bigger effort to make the rally.
I will let you know how it goes

Gary what kind off issues are you having
Michelle when we bought it was between DRV, Luxe and Redwood. We decided the redwood was our best bet.We have looked at the other 3 for the last 3 years at our RV show in Ca and have not found anything better than what we have. I think if we ever buy another it will be a full custom such as a new horizons. Which would also need the Pete we were talking about
