Redwoods warranty is useless for us full timers. During last rip the plastic fender skirts started break out at he screws, one of the roller shade bracket also broke. Took pictures of the skirts on the trailer, removed them and shade bracket. I took them to Camping world in Avondale Az. They said they can't warranty it unless they see it on the trailer. Don't they realize it's our house and you just can't pick up that easy for such minor problems. They advertise rig for full timers. Anyway we love our 2015 38gk but don't count on warranty if you're set up for full time.
They are advertised as fulltime rigs but they are not flawless and have more things to break down. It doesn't matter if it's a Redwood, provost or what have you. Full time means a [little better quality] than your run of the mill rv. Rvs do not have the service infrastructure like the automotive side does. Cant just take it to the nearest dealership. They are a much more complex unit travelling down our less than stellar highways. I have found using a mobile tech wherever you are is the best bet. Get photos and send to redwood, get approval for repair and they will ship the parts, pay the tech and get reimbursed. The wait times at any rv. dealership is terrible. And you will always have problems with warranty work if you are on the move all the time. Also I don't think the fender skirt will be a warranty item if you are out of the 2 year window as it is not structural. That is if you have the 2-5 year that ended with the 2015s. Contact Irvine shades and they will send you the blind brackets for free.
It is still under 2 year warranty, and Redwood will not support mobile Rv techs, tried it 3 months ago when we had a leaking black water tank valve. Called Redwood customer service and they said take it to a dealer nearest 150 miles away) They said as of 1/1/17 they no longer approve mobile Rv repair.
That's to bad as I have used one for the past 3 years. Mind you I normally fix the problem now instead of the headache of taking it somewhere. In the long run unless something major it is probably cheaper than going through Warrenty
That may be more CW than Redwood. I had mine stored 88 miles away and all warranty work was done via text/pictures through the warranty rep at the Dealer, and he called when the parts came in and I installed them myself. It even included a fender and paint. It was a lovely relationship for the time it lasted.
It must be the new service department as I used a mobile tech for all my repairs that were not done at the service center. All we had to do at the time (2014-2015) is get RW to authorize my guy to do the work. He ordered the parts directly and shipped to him. I gave him a check myself and then RW sent me a check within 2 weeks every time after I submitted his invoice that was marked payment received with a copy of the check.
Steve
Friends got approval for a Mobile Tech in May. I would keep calling until I got someone to listen.

A good selling dealer makes a difference.. We just stained our carpet on the steps while away.. I sent some pics to my dealer and they ordered me replacement carpet just with pics.. I have also had seals, and door pistons ordered via pics, and the dealer had them sent directly to my house. All under warranty...

Ironically, they weren't even my selling Dealer! Unfortunately they dropped Redwood a while ago.

My dealer also stopped selling RW's . .
I wouldn't count on Camping World or any dealership telling me anything truthful except the selling price, afterwards you know the saying "if their lips are moving".
I agree call RW yourself & keep working up the chain all the way to the top if necessary.
Also til you add more support to the metal skirts the new plastic trim will just break again.

This isn't my understanding, so I have sent a request to RW management to clarify.
I have received a response from Redwood regarding our ability to use mobile techs for warranty work.
The only mobile techs now approved for warranty work are those that are included in the "Key Express System", which I assume is a Keystone system. Otherwise, a mobile tech must be sub-contracted through a dealer.
Sure glad I bought mine when we did, they are getting way to particular. Buyers still need to be able to get them repaired by someone that knows what they're doing besides worthless dealers, now it appears that's their only option.
From reading other forums warranty repairs are a huge issue on ALL brands of rvs & it appears it's only going to get worse. Fortunately I'm able to do most any repair I've had, but there are a lot of folks out there that can't, thankfully there are forums like this that can help those folks with the smaller issues.
Keystone/Crossoads/Redwood needs to at least get some training to some of these dealerships so they at least can change light bulbs without tearing something else up in the process.

Andy, can we get some clarification as to what this "Key Express Syster" entails??
I just did a quick search and only came up with results regarding Keys, auto, home, etc. Even tried putting Keystone in front and still nothing. We need to know if there is some sort of list of Approved Mobile Techs or how we go about finding one.
Thanks for the updates.
