We are now fulltime as of about 10 days ago. House sold in 2 days at full listing price so we're guessing this was meant to be.
Now in upstate New York for the summer as workampers, we'll head south for the winter in November. Looks like I'll be using my Captain license quite a bit between the Tour boat up here and probably quite a bit of work with Regal Boats in Florida for the winter.
In any case, a few of you have asked on the progress with the Focus.
For a couple of reasons, I didn't tow it up here a couple weeks ago, Did go back to finish cleaning out house and then brought it back (380 miles ) behind the truck. Truck didn't even know or care car was behind it. Mpg dropped .3 towing it. Have a good feeling that it won't really be noticeable behind the coach other than in the camera. Later this summer when we move we'll have it on behind. I've attached a picture hooked up to truck.
It's set up with a Blue Ox baseplate and Towbar (thanks Steve) and a SMI Stay in Play Duo brake system (thanks Brad). Nice part about this setup is that the brake system is permanently mounted and triggered off the brake lights on the coach and also a decelerometer. Can safely be towed behind anything with a 2" receiver and have full braking on the car. Top of the line system and nothing to take in and out.
Have also weighed car (local grain elevator) and was pleasantly surprised. - a bit less than I thought it would be - 2766 lbs with full tank. I did add a couple reinforcements to the hitch but the welder who did it told me he didn't think it was necessary.
We will be a little long, but looking forward to it. As stable as the coach is with the IS and having the disc brakes, I'm thinking it should be a good combination.
