Let the wars begin!!
I will say the new F250-350s are the best looking truck Ford has put out in about 30 years, the F150s are horrible, but sorry guys if I were buying tomorrow 1st choice would be GM, 2nd choice Ram, 3rd choice any brand but Ford.

You know - not even gonna go there.......... Because the reality is that in this day and age, NOBODY builds a bad truck, it's all in what your personal preferences are.
I was a GM person for many years, had Chevys and last one was a Denali 1500 that was a great truck. Went to get a dually for the Redwood and both the Chevy and GMC dealers tried to steal it from me. Said it wasn't worth more than they were offering. Funny how the Ford dealer thought it was worth almost $4 grand more and then did some really good discounts and incentives on top of that. The current Ford has been a great truck. My stepson has a 2015 Ram 3500 that he loves, also a great truck. Rides like a board, but he loves it. Also have a friend, who like Danny, won't look at anything other than GM.
They're all good trucks.
As I've said before I had the opportunity to compare both GM & Ford while working, in 30+ years I had 4 Chevys & about 12 Fords from 1978s to 2011s & all the Fords had HORRIBLE seats, rode/handled like a buckboard, & the cost per mile was approximately 50% higher than the Chevys. In that same time frame a coworker had a couple Dodges & while the the power/drive train was bullet proof the rest of the truck was junk.
Nowadays all of the big 3 make good trucks & I'm sure there there have been huge improvement in handling & hopefully Ford has found seats that don't feel like a park bench, they've finally found a diesel motor that will hold it's own with Duramax & Cummins. Dodge, or Ram as called today, has come a long way & I've heard rumors that they've lost Cummins & will be switching to Caterpillar engines in the next model year or two, not sure what that will do to sales, but the Cat engine a good engine.
I'll have to stick with what I like & that's the Duramax/Allison combination.

I will volte for the Freight Liner MDT decked out like a king's ranch. Price $150,00 before discounts if you can get any.
I have just this to add:
Look at those extremely high towing numbers from both Ford and Ram, then figure out approx pin weight from those numbers, now add those pin weights to the Trucks real world weight and see if all the numbers will work out.
Pretty sure you'll find out you will exceed GVWR (Think it's 14K for both Ford and Ram) of the TV long before you get even close to those max towing numbers.
I have always been a GM fan, but my GMC let me down this week.
Stopped near West Palm beach to get fuel and when I started it back up, the shift selector did not display anything and when I pulled away from the fuel station, the truck seemed very sluggish.
Started down the interstate again and the truck stays in 2nd gear (running 3000 rpm at 50 mph)
Found a GMC Dealer about 5 miles down the road, took into service at the dealer.
They found a bad TCM (Transmission Control Module).
They had new one in stock, replaced it, test drove it, all is good.
So about $900 later I am back on the road and so far so good.
Agree with Michelle. Last time I weighed my rig we are at 26,760 GCW. Almost 13 k of that was on the truck. My GCWR for my truck is 32,100. If I put a 19k trailer behind the truck, I could be under GCWR but would undoubtedly be over the GVW R on the truck and probably overweight on rear axle.
If we ever go bigger, there will be a Volvo 630 or 730 involved. Can put one if those together cheaper than a new F450. And the ride and power and handling is no comparison. And weight isn't an issue. It doesn't even know or care the coach is behind it.
I know people need to make a decision on what to buy today for their needs, but luckily for me I am perfectly happy with my 2015 F-350 dually. That said there are I'm sure tow vehicles that are as equally capable, comfortable and safe.
My thinking is that mine only has 60k miles and expect with good feeding and watering it should last me another 200k. I will look seriously at upgrading when a proven autonomous driving system is available to the public. That will compel me to upgrade my current TV.
Ok kind of off topic but had to throw it out......

In answer to the question about experiences with the newer Ford trucks, our "newer" Ford is a 2011 F-450 (which is similar to the older F-350's with the tow boss package, 17 inch wheels, wide track front axle etc). Newer model years went back to the 19.5 tires on the F-450.
I was a guinea pig, I bought the truck in 2010, 3 months after the change to the new model with the new Ford engine and tranny). The truck has been great, only minor issues (failed NoX sensors that all the manufacturers have had etc.)
The truck has 90,000 miles on it with about 100% towing our RV's.
Had a laugh when I bought it, Ford bumped the engine up to 400HP and 800 Ft-lb. when the competition came close to matching these numbers just by a programming change, it showed the confidence in the engine.

Think you missed the point, discussion was about the crazy high combined weight numbers several of the new TVs. That once you actually hooked up to a 5er that put you into those 30K combined numbers you would be WAY over the TV's GVWR and close to over it's towing capacity.
Plus the typical pin is approx 20% with a range of 15% to 25%, so 20% is the typical number used when trying to calulate without actual scale numbers.

The other question is have you weighed your truck ? My 350 Dually with both of us in it, full fuel and the normal stuff I carry is 9640 lbs. The 36 RL I pull is 3240 on the pin. So much for brochure weights on either truck or trailer .....
