Tracy names all of the vehicles. We have Denny the Dually and Tilda the trailer. Now comes along Fred the Focus.
Fred will be tagging along following Tilda at times after he is set up with the towbar, SMI brake system, lights, etc. he's within the weight allowance for the hitch and is also approved by Ford for flat towing. Add in the fact that Ford has unreal incentives right now and it was too good to pass up a fun little car. The color is called Tectonic and it changes from a silverish color to a light tan dand pending on sunlight position. Should tie in well with out Black and Tan 36RL.
Looks like we will be a bit overlength, but all the weights are ok. Gonna be fun.

Vaughan,
Much better choice than a mini. Have to agree about the Ford incentives. Called our local Sales Manager last week and he gave us an unbelievable offer on a new Fusion. Had our son check it out and we will pick it up when we get home.
Unfortunately B.C. will not permit us to tow it behind Oriana.
Thanks Andy I looked long and hard at a Mini, came very close to buying a 2013 Clubman. Mini does not approve their cat to tow although many do with a manual. Then I rented a Focus a few weeks ago on a business trip. Really liked the little critter and then the fact that manual or automatic it is approved by Ford to tow was a plus. Throw in all the incentives from ford and it boiled down to on a $21340 sticker, I rode away for $16,450 including all the state taxes and license fees. Didn't even have to negotiate, that was the Internet price.!
Ordered the baseplate today. Already have the towbar (thanks Steve) , and the brake system (thanks Brad). Hope to have it ready and take it with us to Tampa later in the fall.
Vaughan,
It's a great car for around town. We had one for a few years, back in the days of my 40 mile commute to/from work.
Our experience was very similar. Judi really isn't comfortable with the truck around town, so I have been giving a lot of thought to getting her a Ford Escape, which was her favourite of our last few vehicles. Checked our dealerships inventory and noted a couple of used Escapes and a loaded 2015 Fusion, so called the General Manager - as a regular customer I don't have to suffer going through salesmen.
The Escapes were rental returns (not interested) and the Fusion was already sold, so he checked his inventory. Mentioned he had a new Fusion, fully loaded, with a MSRP of $42K+ that he had listed at about $35K. Offered it to us for $28K. Our son checked it out for us the next day, so we will pick it up upon our return to Vancouver next week.
sweet looking ride Vaughan... Good luck with her ! My daughter just picked up a 2016 "leftover" Escape and it was CHEAP . with a lot of amenities... Toss in the Ford incentives, great decision
Thought there were to be NO advertising on this forum, sure sounds like a Ford commercial to me!

Well, if GM wanted to do a 25% discount, we'd let them play too !!
Thanks Joe - was thinking of you. We're headed to Delaware Seashore State Park on Sunday. Will be there till Friday and then to Hershey for the Halloween festival weekend.
Going to be on the north side, waterfront over by the CG station in 436

No reason to think Government Motors Corporation would be any different than the government, prices ain't going down, they are going up to pay for past mistakes. Ford on the other hand doesn't have that baggage to worry about.

Lighten up Brad! Didn't you see the "LOL" part?

I was being light about it, but you know what - just don't bring it up every friggen time you can unless you want some response. It's like a broken record from you and the funniness wore off a few decades ago.
W O W!! Didn't mean to ruffle your "friggen" feathers!!!
I'll NEVER say another word about your favorite vehicle.
I apologize to all other forum members for teasing about any vehicle they own or are thinking of owning, I thought it was in good lighthearted fun, but apparently some get too upset.

Keep us in mind in the spring if you still want to do the DC tour. Were all in if your still going. We are planning our 2017 travels now.
After heading west in FL. instead of north a few weeks ago to get away from the hurricane we are now back home and I hate to say it but might have to winterize soon.
Not as many miles as most on here but we just hit 10,750 miles on the RW and Char is not happy that we now have 18K on her truck in just about a year.
Steve
Steve, I know how she feels, ours will be 4 years old in December & has 85k on it now, almost 20k this year. Makes my butt numb thinking about all those miles.
