I have A 38 rl, with the 18000# tri-glide pin box. I want to replace it with a 2100# pin box with the same dimensions/configuration so the coach stays in the same place on the truck. Any suggestions?

Recommend you contact MorRyde or Lippert and see what they can do

Check out the newest from Lippert, Flex Air, it appears to be the same dimensions as the TriGlide, but without the rolling kingpin plate, it's mounted in rubber similar to the MorRyde. It looks to be the best of both, air bag & rubber mounted kingpin!

As Danny said ~ either the FlexAir if you want to stay with an air hitch or the MorRyde pinbox if you don't. I went with the MorRyde and am quite happy with it, I know some of the others went with the FlexAir and are also happy.

I swapped from the tri-glide to the Flex air... the dimensions are almost identical, my trailer sits exactly where it did before, The only diffence is the flex air rides about 1" lower, so it raised my front end up by about 1"..

As for the ride, night and day better... I had alot ot movement while accelerating and deceleration , now i have 1 constant flow.... I love it !

Is the flex their 21,000 pounds. I just am not comfortable with the 18,000 pound hitch. I thought that the flex air and the more ride we're only 18,000 pounds. Thanks for all the feedback

Rick, The one we saw at the factory during this years RW rally was rated for 21,000 lbs. I included pictures when I posted all the rally pics I had. I will post it here again.

I have put in the 8000 pound morride I S axles. I have gone with H rated tires and wheels and disc brakes. My coach is a 2016 so I don't think I'm ready for a roof. No stresss cracks yet but I do want to feel more secure about the pin box.

Rick, this is Randy your next door neighbor from the rally. When we had the MORryde inbox installed just before the rally they actually measured our Tri-Glide and matched their inbox to the same dimensions. If I remember the conversation, the MORryde is somewhat modular with some of the components being different dimensions so they can "match-to-need".

Yep Randy, I was telling the guys at MoRyde I did not want to decrease the distance between my truck tailgate and the storage door of my Redwood, I can open it with just clearing the bumper / tailgate on my truck, if the new MoRyde Pin Box was shorter than the Tri Glide I took off, I would not have as much room between my truck and trailer.
They said they had a MoRyde Pin Box that would replace the Tri Glide and have the same dimensions.

Yes, if I remember right you and I had that conversation with Rob at MORryde at about the same time. I sure am pleased with the pin box, IS and disc brakes.

Randy,
It's great to hear from you. I hope you and Coleen are doing well. Are you still planning on coming to the 17 rally.

It's odd that they installed an 18,000 lb pin box on a trailer with GVWR of 17,500 lbs. and a hitch rated for 3,000 lbs.

When Ron (Titan) and I were looking at triple towing, he looked into upgrading his to the 21,000 lb, and I believe he determined through Lippert there actually was not difference in the hitches, rather they stamped them based on the buyer requirements. I think we both decided not to worry about it, but Ron can correct me if I'm wrong.
