Any known issues of towing problems with GMC 3500 , standard box and the Curt Q20 hitch?
I have a 2016 3500 GMC Denali 3500 SRW with the Duramax Diesel engine and Allison transmission. The Denali package comes with the trailer towing package standard including the trailer brake. I also ordered the 5th wheel pre-prep package with a Curt Q20 hitch, which GMC offers with the vehicle, if desired. I tow a 2015 Redwood 36RL and have found the GMC a perfectly delightful tow vehicle and love the Curt. The Allison transmission is wonderful paired with the tow package and engine brake. I am not a full-timer, consequently I don't have the weight in my trailer that a typical full-timer may carry, which could necessitate a DRW model. I have weighed my trailer and tow vehicle on a CAT scale, determined all applicable weights, including the pin weight, and conclude my SRW is safe relative to my load and needs.
Don't know about the Curt, but if the GMC is the Duramax/Allison, it don't get no better, just my .02 cents.

Because I am an auto dealer (me and 2 brothers own 3 dealerships - GM, Chrysler/FCA, and Honda/Nissan) I've had the opportunity to drive plenty of vehicles. I have the opinion that the Allison transmission is the difference maker. All the domestic manufacturers have very good diesel engines, but the Allison transmission is incredible. I am a retired CPA and had a rancher for a client (big guy) who thought the perfect truck would be a Ford body, Dodge Cummins Diesel, and GM Allison transmission and suspension. I told him "good luck" on putting that together.
Thanks to all. Been towing 2016 36RL with Chev 2500 DuraMax without issues. Now awaiting delivery of 2017 3500 GMC and Q20 Curt hitch. Wondering about stories on the new power plant
Should be sweet. I hope!
