The Tri Glide Pin Box has been around for years, it was typically used on the heaver / high end 5th Wheels.
DRV Mobile Suites used them for years.
Production of the Tri Glide Pin Box is being discontinued and replaced with a new design, the Flex Air Pin Box.

Just for the record I questioned Lippert about the availability of the trii glide pin box at the rally. They told me that the Triglide is still being manufactured but is only sold to OEM accounts. It is not being retailed to consumers. Each of the new redwoods shown at the rally were equipped with new Triglide pin boxes.

We have many miles on our Triglide pinbox and are quite pleased with the performance.

Same for us. I grease it every 1,000 to 1,500 miles and now run the bag at a lower pressure, no more than 50 psi. Our pin weight is only 3,000 lbs.

Prior to departing Lippert yesterday I increased it to 60 psi and the ride was most uncomfortable. The bag had virtually no flex and the movement was transmitted straight to the truck. With lower pressure in the bag, I find it just floats. Reduced the pressure before departing Shipshewana this morning.

Regarding grease, you can never give it too much. If it starts to slam while starting or stopping get out the grease gun.

Completed 4,000 miles at 45 to 50 psi and no bag damage. I find that anything above 65 psi the bag may as well not be there, as it is rigid.

However, the pin weight on 36FL is lower - about 3,000 lbs and even less when the grey and black tanks aren't empty.

I just switched from the Triglide to the MorRyde at the rally. Pulled 362 miles today and what a difference it made. No chucking and bridges were smoother without the hard chuck from the tri glide. My DW even commented on the difference. Had I known this I would of switched a longg time ago.

Just did the first 35 miles with the new MorRyde Pinbox and the Comfortride Hitch. Tracy's comment after the first mile was "OMG I'm converted ". Ride and pull was/is amazing. No noise, no slop, and even big bridge joints are just a minor thump.
We are at MorRyde right now getting an alignment and I have to say I'm actually looking forward to putting 3-400 miles on the rig later.

Yes it has 🙂

Pulling with a Standard Q24 Curt Hitch and the MorRyde Pin Box was much better than the Tri Glide ever pulled.
Even without the Air Bag, my ride was much better, more stable as the Tri Glide always has some wobble between the upper and lower units, no wobble with the MorRyde.

My wife always followed me all over the country with my company 1/2 ton truck, when we traded our SOB 5th Wheel (that came with a MorRyde Pin Box) for my Redwood, she asked me what was wrong with me, the back tail of the Redwood was doing much more weaving than our previous SOB ever did. She said is there something wrong with you or the truck ?
I told her, nothing was wrong with me or the truck, it was just a longer trailer and that was normal. I have always been able to see some wobble on the Tri Glide in my trucks rear view mirror. With the MorRyde, no movement / wobble of the trailer or wobble of the trailers tail.

I run mine between 65-70 psi, anything more is way to firm. The bag has a bounce stopper like the ones on your truck to keep it from pinching the bag should it completely deflate, but with no air it's going to bounce very hard on that stopper. If I were to guess Id say 30 psi would be about mininum & it says 100 is maximum.

I look at it this way: Didn't really like the ride I was getting with the Tri-Glide but could live with it. The fact that failures are showing up (on other forums than the RW forums) and we paid mucho money for our RW and live in it 9 to 10 months or more per year, just didn't want to take the risk of loosing it or possible harm to someone else.
There has to be some reason why DRV has switched back to MORryde Pins and dropped the Tri-Glide.
We're very pleased with our switch to the Comfort Ride Hitch and MORryde Pin Box, and no air bag to put air in every few days.
