I'm settling in to my route back to Tennessee for the summer and wondering if anyone has any comments on locations I've selected, some of which are TT or Encore parks.

TIA for your feedback.

Destination Pull Miles
Voyager RV Tucson 156 (Encore/Thousand Trails)
Mission RV Park, El Paso, TX 321
Lake Colorado City State Park, Colorado City, TX 370
Lake Tawakoni RV Campground (Encore/Thousand Trails) 327
DeGray Lake Resort, Bismarck, AR 217
Tom Sawyer's RV Park, West Memphis, AR 204
Natchez Trace RV Campground, Hohenwald, TN (Encore/Thousand Trails) 184

Happy Spring!

Stayed at the 1st two, both nice parks. Mission for me was a bit confusing getting to the main entrance, but once there was good. Voyager is HUUUGE with onsite hotels, restaurant & lots of permanent, but the rv section is nice enough.
IIRC Tom Sawyer has had some flooding this winter, so may want to check on it.

Ken, not sure if you are referring to De Gray Lake and Natchez Trace state parks or not, if you are we just came through and stopped at these parks on our way back to Canada, I can make comments.

Al,

Yes we are wanting to stop at De Grey Lake State Park. The Natchez Trace RV Campground is a TT park but near the Natchez Trace State Park.

Turns out the Natchez Trace Park is about an hour from our SnB house and we are going to keep our Redwood there all summer. Since we have had it I've always shut everything down and put it in storage when we stay in the house for spring & summer.

I found the TT park and they have a deal where if you are a TT member you can pay $2,100 for an annual site and still use your TT membership elsewhere. Seems like a deal to me since I have been paying nearly that amount for 6 months storage fees.

Now the challenge will be to get the most out of the membership elsewhere. Since out Redwood will be stocked and ready to go it will be a lot more convenient to use it during the summer. Getting it up and running from storage is more work than already having it stocked where we just have to hook up and go.

Anyway, that's how I got to getting the membership. I figured for a year it is certainly worth the cost.

TIA for anything you can add about the parks you've been at.

We stop at DeGray Lake Resort state park on our way south and back north each winter. We were there a week ago and found it closed due to flooding. For us it's an OK short stop but not a destination. The sites are fairly heavily treed (no sat TV) and 30 amp electric and water, they have a dump site. Most are back in and some are tight but our 36RL fits most sites. We were referred to the Corps of Engineers Edgewood campground nearby and it was 50 amp with water. It's first come-first served so it could be tough to get in since the Corps don't take reservations.

You may want to consider Village Creek state park near Wynne Arkansas (west of west Memphis), one of the best state parks we've stayed at, full services and very nice

I just spoke with Degray Lake CG and they do now have some campsites available now. They are thinking they should get some more open in the next week or two so I think I'll be OK.

Thanks again for the heads up so I know what I'm going into.
