Thanks all !
We've decided to take Hwy 20 to get to 101. Can't wait to get pics of the Redwood in the redwoods!
Andy....I'll give you a call when we get home around end of April.

Don - Haven't used Hwy 20 with the RW, but have driven it many times in the car. You won't have any problems and it is a better option than crossing over to 101 at Redding.

We have towed Hwy 20 many times, easy. It is a truck route from the valley to the coast. Btw, if your going up 101, make sure to take the Newton B Drury Parkway in Orick. It’s a must do. You can tow through the park and big trees. Spectacular,

Don, late reply from us, but last fall my wife and I took 101 south from Astoria to Petaluma without any problems. Took pictures of the Redwood parked next to the Redwoods, but couldn't get much of the Redwoods since they are gigantic!!
Only issue was wanting to pull off at every lookout station to see the beautiful views.
Safe travels and enjoy the adventure.
