We have been to the Keys a few times and really enjoy that area.. Last year we stayed up north in Key Largo at the Point of View resort.. Our site was large, but we prefer to stay farther south..

2 or 3 years ago we stayed at Blue Water Key RV Resort and it was FANTASTIC ! !

We are talking about returning this year, but DW already said " let's try another campground" ??

Each time there, we tried to visit the other campgrounds and take notes as to which ones we would fit in, but I cannot find those notes .. ..

Where do you all stay when visiting there ??

We stayed at Blue Water Key, and if we towed there again, would stay there again. We looked at Boyd's, and people were jammed together in the park. The rares were not that different.

Agreed, Boyd's is tight, but doable. But it's also right in the flight path of the Naval Air Station, so you didn't need an alarm clock, 7 AM every morning you were wide awake as they took off right over your head.

When we were driving through Boyd's to look at it, there was a Redwood that was obviously jackeknifed into position between 2 trees, and no swing room to get it out. There was an RV moving company there and they were scratching their heads trying to figure out how they could move it out. A farm tractor could do it if it was heavy enough to lift it, but they had no chance with their truck. Interesting thing to watch.

We were in the Keys for the Christmas holiday and toured many campgrounds for next year. Many were so tight we would not be able to get our rig in (2017 39MB, or right on top of the next unit. We looked around Marathon and found a few that were just OK. The one we are considering is Fiesta Key RV Park just north of Marathon.

We are traveling to the keys from 2/4 to 2/11. We are flying to Miami and renting a car with the main purpose of looking and reserving campgrounds for Jan/Feb/March of 2018 (Will not be 3 full months) in the keys. We own a 2016 38 RL and have camped a few times (NJ shore & Keuka Lake NY) this year and will be fully retired by December of 2017. The list of campgrounds that we will look at is : Point of View, Fiesta Key, Sunshine Key, Sugarloaf Key/KOA, Knights Key, Grassy Key, & Bluewater Key. Thanks for the info - about Boyd's. Any info is appreciated.

I am surprised that you stated that the sites in Blue Water are tight . . There are a few that are tight, nut the majority are LARGE in my experience.

Can't wait to hear what you think. We are headed that way next year and have started looking at places to stay. We have a 41ft. And like big sites. Please post pictures.
