Does anyone have any plans for the eclipse August 21st.
Tried to get a campsite in the Land Between the Lakes area and found everything already full.
Ended up booking a B&B in the Cookville area.
Just curious if anyone else is going anywhere fun.
Here's some General Eclipse info.

It looks like that eclipse will be visible across the US (weather permitting).
Where are you at that the parks are full? (State)
So far lots of camping spots in Oregon are reporting they've been reserved for almost a year.
The eclipse will be partially visible in lots of places but only a small swath of the country will get the total eclipse. Detailed path and time info available on the link in my last post.
I wanted to get a site at either the state park or national forest campgrounds around the Land Between The Lakes in Kentucky. The parks only accept reservations 6 months out so I waited until then but by the time I got on they were full and only walk ups available or sites I could not determine if we'd fit.
I have seen many partial eclipses in my life but never a total eclipse. Seems many people think they too want to experience one.

For those that have been keeping up with RV sales, we all know that record sales abound. That means more full parks (unfortunately for us but WhooHoo! for the park system). Most parks are so far behind on their maintenance it's not even funny.
The only way we'll see a reduction is to camp in the off seasons or make our reservations a year in advance. Other than that, we can wait until gas prices return to $5 a gallon.
This does present 2 new opportunities though...
Open a campground and they will come.
Open an RV storage center and they will come.
It's a Field of Dreams moment for those brave enough to start their own business. I've looked into both. Neither are cheap to start up. I'm just so close to retirement, I'm not sure I want to dive right in (yet)...Maybe we'll go see the country first. :woohoo:
If money was no object, and you wanted to open a campground, where would you want to see a new, full service campground built (which State)?
