Has anyone traveled on US 20-26 out of Jackson Wyoming to Casper? This would be pulling my 38foot RW. Or should I go back through Yellowstone and go from Cody to 14A to 310 to I-94. I want to get on I 90 to Deadwood.

I've pulled 20-26 from Jackson to Cody with our 39" Bighorn prior to purchasing our RW with no problems. We spend a lot of our summers in WY and we're currently in Cody for the Summer, so if you come through this way let us know.

Buffalo Bill Museum..............you can spend most of a day there! The last time I and family was there was 1993. My son and I thought it was great.

Agree that the Buffalo Bill Center of the West is a must see. The ticket is good for two days and you could easily spend two days in there to really see it all. Another place we like is the Heart Mountain Relocation Center just a few miles east of Cody on Hwy 14A; it was one of the 10 WWII Japanese Internment Camps and is very well done. There is a lot to do in Cody.

HI Dave,
20-26 from Moran Jct. to Casper is a good highway route first time through there in the early 70's. There is one smaller pass before you get to Dubois East Bound you will start out of the mountains and into the high plains. There is not much out there once you get out on the high prairie all the way to Casper amenities are far and few between so make sure you have enough fuel to go between towns. Once you get to Casper you can top off the tanks and head either North towards Billings, MT or South to Cheyenne, WY Safe travels and enjoy the views as even the high plains hold some very beautiful panoramas.

One recommendation for anyone thinking about traveling around or through the Big Horn Mountains. If you have a larger Redwood and right at the limits with your tow vehicle I would not take it over the Big Horn Mountains except maybe one route that being the Buffalo WY to Worland, WY Hwy 16. I have been over every route and would not take my rig up over any other way even if it is out of the way. The grades are very steep and very long. Every time I have been over that route I have come across someone broke down towing there RV or livestock trailer. The other pass roads will and do eat transmissions for dessert not to mention coming off the mountain the need to be very careful to not over heat your brakes. The big Horns end on the North end at Billings MT and Casper at the South end not a very long range but it is a very serious set of mountains with peaks as high as the Rockies.
